Expect to wait awhile. My appointment was at 11:45, I was there at 11:15 and they didn't see us until 12:45. The interview itself was really quick. He wanted to know when and how we met. He asked to look at our joint bank statement which he didn't keep. He also wanted to look at our 2005 income tax return which he did keep. He asked me my name, my birthdate, where I was born, and gave me the names of my parents and asked if I knew who they were. He then asked if my wife was from Oklahoma and asked her to not sing "I'm proud to be an Okie from Muskokee". As you can tell he was pretty laid back. He asked me what I did for a living and when I told him I worked for a computer software company we talked a bit about the problem he was having with his printer at home. He then printed out a joke email that he'd received and gave it to me to read later. That was about it, he didn't ask to see anything else we'd brought with us, no pictures, no nothing. He stamped the I-130 and I-485 and told me that I was approved and that I would receive the card no longer than 4-6 weeks but likely sooner. At one point in the interview when he asked me for our bank statement, I was searching through my huge folder and my wife grabbed it out of my hand and said "I'll find it". He thought that was pretty funny. After the interview, he said that, more than anything, proved to him that we were legitimately married. He said that he'd been married for 25 years and that most people came in and acted lovey and that's not how real married people act! Anyways, what a pleasant surprise, I can't wait to get that card now.

Wow, that's great to hear! Talk about an easy interview -- I really hope ours is as straightforward. Congratulations to you and your wife!

Though I have to disagree -- many married people I know do act lovey. ;)

Congratulations :P

My husband and I had a small argument on when and how we met. I think that should also prove that we are genuinely married.

Thanks all! de_sjiem, no I didn't get a passport stamp however I also didn't ask for one. I don't plan on going back to Canada until May and my passport's actually expired at the moment anyways. I wondered if that might cause a problem but they didn't even ask to see it.
