Hi All,

I have just posted the same questions in the general thread but I was thinking that may be a good idea posting also here as my wife will have her interview at the US Embassy in London..in less than one month!!

As you can imagine we are extremely happy and I am also trying to help her in gathering all the documents she will have to bring with her at the medical appointment and at the interview as well.

More in particular, while reading the Interview Letter, the first question that comes to mind is whether or not the "Photocopies of all civil documents" they mention in the letter are the same of the "Supporting Documents" listed in the Welcome Letter.

And in fact, the Interview Letter mentions "Photocopies of all Civil Documents" and I was wondering whether or not they are my wife's birth certificate, police certificates and marriage certificate (which copies we already sent them to the NVC)

I am not sure because those documents are also specifically mentioned - one by one - in the same Interview Letter, where they ask for the originals.

The second question is: does my wife need to print and take with her also the "Immigrant Visa Aplication Part I and II" that we already submitted online while at the NVC stage?

The last one is: does she have to provide them my Tax Return or not?

I am asking this because in the Interview Letter they say that "If the sponsor provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal Income tax extension in lieu of a Federal income tax return, bring the sponsor's most recent Federal income tax return to the visa interview".

Now, I am aware this is a rethoric question as I have not filed an IRS Federal Income tax extension but just want to be sure since I do not know what a IRS Federal Income tax extension is.

Other than that, any specific suggestion for properly preparing and gathering the documents for the medical and the interview?

Many thanks a lot in advance for your help with this!!

This is information for you from the London embassy http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/processed_nvc.html

If you sent photocopies to NVC, then the originals must be taken to the interview. There is a link to the list of documents to take to the interview found on the page.

She should bring her interview letter because London checks that outside to make sure everyone in the queue really has an appointment. They also say to bring the confirmation of submitting the DS-260 online. (You print it when you finish submitting) It is not a fail if you don't have that. Others have gone without and were not sent away.

The interviewer will have the entire file from the NVC. No need to take the application.

The information in the link I provided for the London website says if you submitted your tax return information and the I-864 to the NVC, then it will be in the folder. So no need to bring it to the interview. They will have it in London.

A tax extension is when an individual can not complete his tax return by the April 15 deadline. He files a form asking the IRS for an extension of the deadline so he can file later. if you filed your taxes with the IRS on time, then that you quoted does not apply to you. It is telling a person who did not send the NVC a tax return, but a copy of his request for more time to file, that they need a real and complete tax return by interview day.

There is information about the medical in London here. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/?p=6741228

It is in the K1 guide but all medicals are the same. The only exception is that K1s do not have to have all their shots done before the interview. Your wife needs all completed, so disregard the FAQ "What if I get to Knightsbridge and the nurse says I am missing a shot but I can get it at my GP and send with AOS?" If your wife is missing a shot, she should pay Knightsbridge extra to give it to her.

Did my interview yesterday, they want to see the originals of Birth, Divorce, Marriage, Police Cert, Military, The I-184 travels with the pack from NVC, take up to date photos with you

You need passport and interview letter to access the Embassy

All original paperwork is returned to you at the interview, passport obviously kept for Visa

Thanks a lot for your answer guys!

They helped me a lot in clarifying the situation regarding the documents to bring.

I am going to post here a message I have already written in the other thread as I think it may be useful for me and whoever is having the interview in London.

As far as I have read on the VJ forum, at the US Embassy in London they tend not to ask for pictures or other proofs of the relationship but I told my wife to bring 10 pictures that shows we have been together for 8 years now.

However, I also read around on the forum there may be other evidences that come in handy like flight itinerary of relationship related's trips and conversation on social network like for instance Facebook (or Skype as per videochat app).

Do you guys suggest I gather this kind of documentation?

If so, would you please tell me how to do that as I have really no clue :(

you're right London doen't ask for anything other then the set docs, but like you I took pictures and boarding cards

Its easy for me to say you don;t need it, but for your own peace of mind it is always better to be over prepared

After the interview you will say, pah never needed this

Take whatever you feel comfortable with and laugh about the amount of stuff you brought...........................I did

xx

Thank you for the answer, DJ6372.

As per the extra documents, my wife will bring some picture of us, my american bank statements (checking and savings) - that I put under her name as well.

I believe it is going to be enough.
