Hi guys,

I would really love to receive your help in correctly interpreting the documents listed in the Interview Letter.

Regarding the documents that my wife has to provide at time of interview, the Interview Letter mentions "Photocopies of all Civil Documents" and I was wondering whether or not they are my wife's birth certificate, police certificates and marriage certificate.

I am not sure because those documents are also specifically mentioned - one by one - in the same Interview Letter where they ask for the originals (as we already sent them to the NVC - although only copies).

In other words, are the "Photocopies of all civil documents" they mention in the Interview Letter the same of the "Supporting Documents" listed in the Welcome Letter?

The second question is: does my wife need to print and take with her also the "Immigrant Visa Aplication Part I and II" that we already submitted online while at the NVC stage?

The final one is: does she have to provide them my Tax Return or not?

I am asking this because in the Interview Letter they say that "If the sponsor provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal Income tax extension in lieu of a Federal income tax return, bring the sponsor's most recent Federal income tax return to the visa interview".

Now, I am aware this is a rethoric question as I have not filed an IRS Federal Income tax extension but just want to be sure since I do not know what a IRS Federal Income tax extension is.

Other than that, any specific suggestion for properly preparing and gathering the documents for the interview?

Many thanks a lot in advance for your help with this!!

Just go through the letter thoroughly...

Each documents is assigned to a letter... I mean those F, J, K stuffs.

For example, You submitted the photocopy of your police certificate, marriage certificate and birth certificate..... Now during your wife's interview, she has to provide originals of these credentials...

With regards to the text return.... I'm not sure what the extension means but I know you have to submit tax return and W2 of the previous years.... These are also to be submitted in originals as you submitted the photocopies to nvc

As rightly mentioned by Franklin, she has to carry the originals of Birth Certificate, Passport, PCC and Marriage certificate.

It is advisable to carry copies of your W2, 1040 and latest pay stubs. Again it is just an advice not mandatory docs. Also if i have understood you correctly you already have your 1040 with you hence you dont have to bother about the 'extension' term - you can ignore.it. :)

All the best..!!!!
