Here is my question and looking for some advice. My wifes daughter has always had a tourist visa and has been to US many times. 5 years ago we filed a 130 for her Just in case she wanted to come here permanently. At the time she didn't but things have gotten bad in Russia lately with everyone leaving, money worth nothing and Govt being harse on everyone o she would like to come here.

I don't know how long the 130 will take since it is 5 years old already but she could come here on the visa.

If she did that could she apply for change of status at some point and if so how are her chances?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Sorry no, she cannot come here on a tourist visa with the intentions of changing or adjusting status. That is visa fraud

How old is the daughter? Married or unmarried?

It could be anything from another 2 to another 6 years till her immigrant visa is ready.

As mentioned, the tourism visa cannot be used to lice here, if she overstays the usually 6 months given, she is here illegally. If things are very bad where she is in Russia, could she maybe move to a safer area?

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
