Hien,

Very Good, it sounds like you'll be OK :)

Yes, my wife's cooking is much better than the local restaurants and actually the restaurants in VN. I'm surprised Seattle doesn't have all the fruits and veggys? Here in Northern Virginia, near DC, my wife can find everything. In addition to the Vietnamese stores, look for Korean and Chinese markets/shops too.

Good Luck

Things are not simple as we thought. To get visa is only the first difficult step. Next is the trip to USA.

In my trip, there are 4 Vietnamese wives went to USA. When we arrived Seattle, David went through the US citizen gate and he came back to wait for me. So, everything is ok for us, except the waiting time is too long.

The rest 3 Vietnamese wives, they went there by themselves. One had her husband came to the airport to pick her up and he entered into the place of Custom officer to wait for her, she passed through that gate as well. But the other 2 ladies were kept and they had to follow the custom officer to go to some where else, I don't know.

There is one Cambodian girl, she came by K1 visa, but her husband is 62 years while she is only around 25 years. The custom officer asked her with a very upset voice: Do you know who you are going to get married to?? He's 62 years old!!!

Then some other questions very difficult and they kept her as well.

It is up to the city, Seattle used to have some organizations for the fake marriage. That's why they are very difficult.

So, be careful with the current situation of each area and the best method is your husband / fiance go with you to USA.

Hien

Thanks for the good info Hien, maybe Lek should enter in San Francisco. I would like marriage in San Francisco but we should probably marry in my home state, Washington. I don't know, I haven't got that far yet.

You can buy ticket with IOM, the service they added of the air ticket is picking up your fiance at the airpot with IOM staff who can speak VNese. It may help but they dont provide this service nationwide. For my case, they dont sell ticket to Washinton DC as 1st point of arrival in usa. I figure out that It seems that they offer the service in west cost, not east coast.

My POE was smooth and US custom very nice. I helped them on interpreting. They was asking around like who VNese can speak english, who thai can speak english.....and I raised my voice to help them.

Goodluck to your interview and POE.

Hien,

I am in a very similar situation with you as well but my family approves my fiance and everybody loves him very much :) . He will make use of his last vacation days to be here with me in the interview and yes, we have only 7 days total for the interview and everything if i get the visa. I go to work until Friday, he will come here on Saturday, my interview will be on Monday morning and i might go to work on Monday night if ...(praying everyday for that "if" will never happens :P ) I agree with you that the fiance should be with us in the interview day, they will do no thing but waiting for us, but it helps much with mental support. :) Thank you for your information about 2006 tax, he is filling for that tax and we will have all full 2006 tax details in this week.

Also, i want to tell you that do not trust any attorney, we will only get them for the general information, VJ is the best place for us which leads to successful visa issued

Attorney and the rest, they are human after all! Mistake was made before and will be for the near future. Trust but verify is my philosophy!
