Interview date...NVC?

Is it possible that NVC will know our interview date after they have received my finances medical report and before he receives the interview letter? On average, how long has it been taking to receive the interview letter after the embassy receives the medical report? I would really like to get a flight for the week to go to the interview with my fiancé and plus celebrate the completion of his PHD. I just don't want to pay an arm and leg for a plane ticket. So I need to find some shortcuts to see if I can make it happen.

If it has been scheduled by London, then NVC can see it on their system because they are both Dept of State. So you could find out a few days early.
