Hi everyone,

We are about to send the AOS and IV docs to NVC but have some questions regarding the document cover sheets and the order of the docs.

Could you please help us?

We paid AOS and IV (they show as 'PAID'). We printed the 'Document Cover Sheet' for both, AOS and IV.

1. Should we send all docs in one envelope:

Document Cover Sheet from the 'Welcome Letter' (attached here)

Document Cover Sheet AOS

AOS Docs, then adding

Document Cover Sheet IV

IV docs

and send all together in one envelope.

OR

2. Should we put the AOS and IV docs in two separate envelopes:

Document Cover Sheet AOS

AOS Docs

Document Cover Sheet IV

IV docs

and send all together in one envelope.

But where should we put the document cover sheet from the 'Welcome Letter' in this case (2.) ?

Also, what do they mean by: 'Petitioner documents' and 'Photocopies' in the 'Welcome Letter' document cover sheet ?

We're a little confused with this. Please help us.

Thank you!

We went with #1 and sent them in 8/28 and received a CC 9/18 without any checklists.

But, either way should be fine.

By petitioner's documents I believe they mean petitioner's birth certificate if you are applying for parents or siblings.

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Supporting_documents.html

By photocopies I think it's photocopies of birth certificates etc. As in, don't send originals since you need those for the interview.

Congratulations on CC! :)

Excellent! Thank you very much for helping with this!

We're thinking of doing 1.), it makes more sense as we can include the 'Welcome Letter' document cover sheet.

Thanks a lot! I hope you get your interview scheduled as soon as possible! :)

The petitioner document is birth certificate of petitioner proving relationship if you are doing a IR5 OR F$ visa

From NVC website

"If you are applying for an IR5 (parent of a U.S. citizen) or F4 (brother or sister of a U.S. citizen) visa you must obtain an original (or certified copy) of your petitioners birth certificate. .

You must send a photocopy of your petitioner's birth certificate to the NVC.

You must submit the original "(or certified copy) and a photocopy of your petitioner's birth certificate to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate at the time of your interview.

Photocopies is copies. Only send copies of documents to the NVC. The original documents will be needed for the interview

Thank you, j&ana! You've been really helpful!

We gathered all financial and supporting docs and put them into one envelope, with the Document Cover sheet from the Welcome Letter on the top of everything.

Document Cover Sheet (from the Welcome Letter)

AOS Document Cover Sheet

Written Cover Sheet

I-864EZ

Tax Trascripts (2014, 2013, 2012)

W-2s (2014, 2013, 2012) ; (we filed 'married filing jointly' in 2014 and 2013, that's why included these)

Employment Letter (although not required)

Pay stubs for the last 6 months (again, not required but we included them)

Copy of Marriage Certificate

Copy of U.S. passport

IV Document Cover Sheet

Written Cover Sheet

Translation in English of the birth certificate and the birth certificate in Bulgarian (translated and legalized)

Translation in English of the Court/Prison Records and the doc in Bulgarian (translated and legalized)

A note that Police Records are not obtainable

Copy of Marriage Certificate

Two passport pics

Copy of bio page of the passport

Translation in English of 'Marrital Status' doc and the doc in Bulgarian (translated and legalized) - this is required by the U.S. Embassy in Bulgaria

That's all.

Did you guys leave any 'blank' boxes in the AOS form? I've noticed in the new version the petitioner's name is copied to the last, page 7, and if you remove it, it removes it automatically from page 1. So, we left it as it is, it's filled out on page 7, but there's nothing to add as 'additional info', the boxes are just left blank. Also, we didn't use any 'n/a' or 'none' anywhere in the form, just left what's not applicable blank. What do you think?

Thank you.

That's correct, no need to submit W-2s/1099 if you provide tax transcripts. We filed 'married filing jointly', though. So, we have to submit W-2s to show the income. The instructions say:

"...If you provide a photocopy of your tax returns, you must include a copy of each and every Form W-2 and Form 1099 that relates to your returns. Do not include copies of these forms if you provide an IRS transcript of your returns rather than a photocopy unless you filed a joint tax return with your spouse..."

So, that's why we included the W-2s.
