I had my interview two weeks ago and the consular officer told me that my VISA is approved. He told me to just go home and wait for the passport with visa in it. He didn't ask for any additional documents. Then just today when i checked my CEAC status it says REFUSED. I'm completely baffled and helpless coz i don't know what to do. I don't even know the reason why he Denied us. I feel completely mislead because He said the visa is approved. I have no idea what to do from here. Do you have any advice?

well thats very misleading for them to do. People can get very upset with this. I am very upset. Now I'm even more confused with what you just said. They kept my passport and now I don't even know if I will get it back....

If they kept your passport it means you are approved. You will get your passport back with the VISA. The CEAC status changes when ever something is done , sometimes it is misleading. Be calm and if you like, call the embassy on Monday.

If you don't get your passport back in another week, call the NVC and ask what's going on. Explain the situation...because that's scary. But like the other person stated, if they took your passport and didn't give it back to you, it means you were approved. Had you been refused you would have been given a reason and your passport returned to you.

It could be a hiccup, but I suggest you check your email and the spam folder for anything from USEM. Also log onto your account at USTRAVELDOCS and check your status there.

I would be upset also. But, these "websites" can, and are so mis-leading. I think your status will change very soon, to issued.

Call the embassy, if you do not hear or see something different, in a few days.

I think you are fine.

Contact the embassy, they has been instances where a person has been told they were approved and afterwards they have looked at the case more closely and decided it should be denied. Could also be like people have said here earlier and it will get changed to issued. But I would definitely contact the embassy and find out what's going in.

sometimes the CO realizes some important fact or circumstance which he or she overlooked earlier and they decide to refuse even after they told you that it is approved. They just told you verbally that the visa is approved and not in written form and they can change their decision anytime.Hope you did not update ur Facebook or did something socially to make them suspicious. It could be a mistake also, like the person updated "refused" by mistake.

I can't imagine the fear, anticipation, and overall worry that you are experiencing. I think I would fall apart after coming so far. Be strong, take a deep breath, and trust that those who have gone before you (and given their own positive advice) know what they are talking about. Be strong.

Where in the Philippines are you? I am just curious.

I'm just a mess for a couple of days now.. its not right what they are doing to me. i'd rather be refused right there on the interview to my face and give me the reason why I'm denied. At least I could try to defend myself or submit something that could answer his doubts..

It updated last 9/21, 9/23 and now 9/28. What does this mean? i keep calling the embassy but they just keep on saying its being escalated. Im not sure whats happening here. They still have my passport.
