Emily Blunt Told to 'Leave Hollywood' By Fox & Friends Hosts After She Joked About Republican Debate

I'm sorry but when you put people like Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and Mick Huckabee up for nomination for your party's presidential candidate - why would people not laugh and make jokes? The only thing that marginally less funny would be if they nominated the muppets.

But dont make jokes - because if you do some hack commentator will make out as if you sneezed in Reagans ashes or urinated on the Alamo.

Apparently not everyone is happy about Emily Blunt's new U.S. citizenship.

The hosts of Fox & Friends want to send the English actress back across the pond for some comments she made about becoming an American.

"I became an American citizen recently, and that night, we watched the Republican debate and I thought, 'This was a terrible mistake. What have I done?' " Blunt joked to The Hollywood Reporter earlier this week.

After recounting the quote on Tuesday, Fox & Friends host Anna Kooiman said, "You know what, then why don't you leave Hollywood, California.

"Let some American women take on the roles that you're getting, because Americans are watching your movies and lining your pockets," Kooiman continued before listing out some of the 32-year-old's movies.

The hosts further quoted Blunt's joking remarks about her citizenship on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

"'It's weird. I get to keep both my British citizenship, you have to renounce the queen, so it's kind of typically American,' " read co-host Brian Kilmeade.

"You know what Emily Blunt just did? She just Dixie Chicked herself," said Steve Doocy, referencing Natalie Maines' infamous 2003 Bush dig. "She has alienated half the country, that now will think twice about going to one of her movies."

Over the years I've had a discussion with my wife about her becoming a US citizen. She's always been too busy, missing one thing or the other, or needing time to get the application completed and filed. As if... After the debate last week she told me she really needs to consider getting it done. She was beyond appalled at the fascist standpoint of certain presidential hopefuls.
