Hi, my fiancé was given a one year ban because he acknowledged he had experimented on marijuana in his first year of college(12years ago). We were asked to contact the panel physician, which we did. He told us that his clinic was going through some renovation and assured us that the one year ban will start from when he( my fiancé) did his first drug test( which was in June). I spoke with the embassy today and they told me that the panel physician no longer works for them and they gave us a new number to contact stating that his one year ban will begin after his first visit to the new panel physician. I am confused, what can I do?

That's absolutely ridiculous and frustrating. 1yr ban for an offense 12years ago...Marijuana that's now being used and sold in some U.S cities legally ...incredible. I guess Jeb Bush should suspend his campaign for 1year too.

Immigration is Federal used to be 3 years.

Get with the one the embassy recommended ASAP and start te ball rolling

19 mths into it you can request new interview to continue the embassy processing

I meant 10 mths you can request new interview....if he is in Jamaica he may

get called back after 6-8 mths (not the rule) but it happened twice since they

had legalized 3 grams of personal use weed there, so who knows

Thank you all for taking out time to respond. The country in question is Cameroon. My major concern is to start all over with a new Physician, just frustrating.

When you get a chance please complete your timeline. It's very helpful when asking questions.

Best of luck!
