Here is my review VJfamily, couldn't write in the review section. Need's moderator help here!!!

My interview was on September 16, 2015 at 7:30a.m, I arrived at the embassy at 6:45, waited in my car while eating my breakfast. At 7:00 I saw people running to the security gate to form a queue, which I later went to join. There were two queues, one for immigrant visa and the other for other types of visas. At exactly 7:45 I was done with security and entered the interview section of the building, I gave my interview appointment letter to the lady seated immediately by the entrance inside the building, she took a page out and gave me the other page and showed me where to sit.

At 9:15 I was called to window 3, a nice Ghanaian gentleman there asked for my original documents, by asking for them one after the other, but when he saw I had them organized in one folder he asked me to submit the entire folder. He then asked me if I have any other evidence supporting my marriage, I said yes, and submitted loads of documents I've organized in folders. He was impressed with my organizational skills. He asked me the following:

1. How long have you been married?

2. Have you ever travelled outside Ghana?

3. Requested for my phone number

After I was done with that, I had a sit and was called to window 1 for finger printing at 10:30. Had a sit again until 12:15 when I was called to window 4 for the main interview. I got the famous K.M, very stern lady but was professional also. she apologized for the delay and asked how I was doing. Here were the questions asked:

1. When did you first meet your husband?

Me: On GhanaWeb

2. Is it a dating site?

Me: They have a dating section but we met at their news comment's section (we were arguing about an article.

3. What was the article about?

Me: Obesity in Ghana (Had some difficulty in remembering this, so hesitated for a minute, it's been 9yrs)

4. Has your husband been married before?

5. Does he have any kids?

6. Who do they live with?

7. Which city do they live in?

8. How often does he see them?

9. What is his son's name?

10. How many children do you have together?

She congratulated me on the pregnancy

12. How many times has your husband been to Ghana?

13. When and When?

14. How long did he stay at each visit?

During the questioning time, she was typing on her computer all along, it all lasted 5mins. She then told me my husband didn't make enough income in 2014 (meanwhile she begun writing on the white sheet), therefore (I didn't let her finish), I said to her "Madam there must be an error somewhere, I know for a fact my husband exceeded the poverty limit and I checked on travel.gov today to be sure the said income have not been reviewed". She calculated again and said the same thing to me, then I told her that she must be missing a document, and that "I have copies of all my husband's W2s here with me, can I see what you have there", she showed it to me and lo and behold one of the W2s was not there, even though we submitted it to NVC, I quickly provided it to her (This W2 was for Gambling Income). She then told me to have a sit, she was going to verify how Gambling Income is factored in the calculations.

In another 5mins she called me again to window 4, immediately I got there she apologized for the mixed up and handed me all my documents back with the coveted blue slip. She started spewing the do not make travel arrangement speech but God knows I didn't hear a word of that.

My Advice. Please educate your beneficiaries, If they have facts they can always argue their points out. I completed most of the forms and forward them to my husband for review, so I was armed with all information (and thanks to VJ). Also organize your documents it makes it easier for the CO to pick the ones they want to look at. For those interested here is what I submitted as evidence:

1. Emails (from 2009 - 2015) organized in one folder and well labeled.

2. Phone records - (from Nov. to June 2015)

3. Viber records (from 2014 to 2015)

9. Money transfer receipts (from 2014 to 2015)

10. Yahoo instant messaging records (from 2013 to 2015)

Thanks for the very detailed description!! Very very nice of you.

However I'm very disappointed in one thing.

You said the CO said your 2014 return isn't sufficient. Let's say it indeed was not sufficient.

I thought they look at most recent year and current income. Isn't it?

Now I'm very very scared because I had enough income for 2014 and 2013 but in 2012 I was a student and didn't make enough :(

Oh god now I know FOR SURE they will ding me for this and my wife is going to be stuck!!

The 2012 won't matter. 2014 and current is important. No worries.

Spoiler
