Can any one tell how long does it take for the file to arrive on Supervisor Desk when he ask for a particular case file?

Yesterday the lady rep said the supervisor has asked for our case file which is yet to be arrived on his desk. Moreover how long does it take for him to review the case once the case file arrives as its 53 days as of today since NVC received our case so I was wondering how long does a supervisor takes to review the case after receiving the file?

It depends on when you sent your documents to NVC - that is the date you should base yourself on. If you got a checklist and responded to it, you should consider the date they confirmed its receipt instead.

Even though they come up with many different waiting times for supervisor review - I've heard of 30, 35, 42 days or even 1 week - everything is based on when NVC scanned the last documents you've sent them.

For the supervisor review, I would suggest you call daily to ask your status. If they're dismissive about it, mention your scan date and insist politely.

Good luck!

I'd also go with something like "my case hasn't been reviewed for month/two/etc, connect me to a supervisor", it worked wonders for me. :) Got through on my third call and a supervisor reviewed our case on the spot. Though we also waited all their stupid deadlines first (30 days, 42 days, all that).

NVC's deadline for supervisor review is 45 days from the date they put your case for supervisor review, unless they received documents from you after that date, in which case the clock starts ticking when they received those documents.

There's a few of us here on VJ who has waited longer than 65 days, think we have the same incompetent, inefficient supervisor. :ranting: Our case is currently on day 86 of supervisor review. We've called and emailed NVC soooooooo many times and nothing is helping, supervisor is unavailable and don't call us back. We've now emailed our Senator for assistance. Every time I see someone getting put on supervisor review, I always think "no no no".

Are you on day 53 after your case was put for supervisor review or from your original scan date?

I am calling them every day i have even talked to supervisor named silvia but she said she is not the one handling my case neither do she knows how long it can take for the supervisors to reveiw our case the best she could do for us is to leave a note for speeding up the process and she also said there is no such thing like reviewing on the phone :/

It's hard to say, every case in different. My hunch is that if you haven't received a checklist in 53 days, you probably will not get one after so long. Have you been calling the NVC often? Did they tell you what is going on?

I have been in Supervisor Review twice - once for a locked DS-261 (no rep could open it for 15 days) and for a DS-260 review. Both were solved quite easily - the hardest for me was to convince a rep to transfer me to a supervisor, but once I reached them, they usually solved it pretty quickly.

For example, even though I am CC right now, my case is stuck because they can't find my daughter's i-130 that they received it from USCIS - without that, they say they can't send our cases to the embassy.

So my thoughts to you would be to call them every single day if you can, and try to understand why exactly your case is not moving.

Try to be kind and polite to them (I know it's hard!), but we need them on our sides to get the ball rolling.

We are on 53rd day from the original scan date as per their email they have sent.

Unfortunately, once your case gets put for supervisor review, none of the days you've already waited will count. The clock starts over from the date you were put on supervisor review and the NVC reps will rarely try and help you until the 45 day deadline is up. :(

I'd like to tell you to just be patient and wait, you'll get cc, but I know from our case that that's not always the case. Wait the 45 days from the date your case was put on supervisor review. Hopefully, you hear something within those 45 days. If not, then after 45 days, start calling and emailing NVC and involve your Senator... Good luck!

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo you mean to say excluding the 53 days wait i have to wait another 45 days from the day my file reached the supervisor :/ I heard that it was only true if i had specifically asked for supervisor review of my case where as i didnt ask any such thing the NVC is moving with their own pace more over i called NVC today like usual some ignorant type of rep attended my call and gave me a 220 bolt shock by saying your package sent to NVC is missing your Birth Certificate and Marriage certificate i said what and told her that i have sent two different packages to NVC because we didnt trust our consultant we knew he probably miss some thing so by sending an extra one would compensate for that mistake and that what i was told by another rep a week ago that NVC is reviewing both packages more over yesterday the rep said the supervisor asked for our case file and now all of a sudden you are telling me my case file has missing documents there is some thing wrong with your system then she came up with another lame excuse and said both Marriage and My Birth Certificates are not properly translated I said my marriage certificate was translated a competent authority and is endorsed by the court and my birth certificate is issued by Govt. Of Pakistan which is in both english and urdu then i asked her to transfer my call to supervisor and she put me on long hold after a while she came back smiling and told me oh your case is fine and nothing is missing or incomplete i just talked with the supervisor and he or she said that wait for few more days you will get a case complete letter and some affidavit of support letter in email which u have to bring at the time of interview. Now i dont know whats going on she was telling me some thing different earliar before talking to some supervisor and told me some thing different after talking with supervisor i dont know what to believe now :s

We were put under supervisor review for 45 days after waiting 3 months for them to read an email. This is not right. But I guess we were lucky, we would still be waiting to be put under it if we had not contacted the Senator.

we was put on supervisor review on sep 10 because wife case was cc but put on hold till stepson case was complete, but stepson case was put on hold without a cc till wife case was complete and wife case was already cc and officer said both cases are on hold and they have no ideal why its like that, so they put me to supervisor review and told me it will be clear up by sep 13, the 13 came and i call and was told i might have to wait for 42 days, so i call every day at 7am and 10pm trying to talk to supervisor and all i ever got was none are available on sep 17 i call 7am and got this nice rep and she look at my cases and said hold on im going to talk to someone bout this she came back bout 10 min later and said my supervisor has your case on her screen right now, so i have to log you out of my screen because she cant enter any information while i have you log in and she said call back in the morning and i promise you every thing will be completed so i call back later that eve instead of the next morning, and a rep said this is your lucky day both of your cases were completed today and are waiting on interview dates from embassy, so i advise just keep trying till you get a supervisor
