Any recent experiences with K1 visa process for Mumbai consulate?

What happens we received the case number from NVC? Does the consulate contact us about the case number?

Does Mumbai consulate send out packet 3 and 4?

Here is what happened in my case:

NVC assigned case number and sent to Mumbai Consulate. I called NVC to get the case number and when I checked it had already reached the consulate on Sep 11. Then my fiancee received the latter on Sep 18 by regular mail.

Follow the instructions on it to get PCC, medical, online filing of DS-160 and creating profile and paying visa fees to schedule. I am yet to receive confirmation on the visa fee payment. But I saw a sidebar that earliest available date is Oct 1 as of today.

It is strange, the letter we received asked us to fill DS-260. But the website link clearly says that for K visas it is DS-160. So we filled the DS-160.

My case just went to Mumbai. I don't know why it went to Mumbai. I thought I opted for Hyderabad.

K1 visa cases are interviewed only in mumbai or Delhi embassy..
