How important is packet 3 for medicals?

I noticed a lot of ppl who went for medicals without having heir packet 3. My fiancé made his appointment and one of the things the ppl are asking him to bring is the letter from the embassy. Is it important that he brings this letter to the medicals?

If he goes without, they won't turn him away. Some take a print of the CEAC status showing the LND number. I think they just want to make sure the number is correct so the exam gets tied to his case properly. Not a huge deal without the letter.

Thanks! According to the date NVC said our case left and according to DHL our case was deliver today around 10 am. How long does it take for them to input a case in the system and to send our packet 3....on average?
