I will be filing my fiancees application this week. Can i go stay with him in dr a couple months until we recieve a notification... Or will it affect our process

Sorry im just new to this kind of stuff. We really want to be together and i wanted to go stay until his visa is ready but if thatll affect the process then i dont want to.

They could also get a joint sponsor if the income is not enough.

Also, make sure you have someone who checks you mail box at home, in case you get anything from USCIS while outside the country.

Income from abroad doesn't count.

Some embassies don't like co-sponsors for K1s, your mileage may vary.

If you want to go spend time with your fiancé, you may go(serves as evidence of a strong relationship also). Being out of the country wont affect your petition. like previously mentioned, if you leave your job you wont have income but then again that's your choice. in terms of proving financial support for interview (I134), santo domingo embassy welcomes joint sponsors. if you have one , you should be fine.

Like puffers said, make sure someone checks your mail regularly, have internet access and check status online. basically, don't forget you are doing this immigration process.

A couple of months is not going to be sufficient. You can count on anywhere from 9-13 months. You are now going into the holiday season when the USCIC, NVC all move slower due to holiday, weather closures, and just plain our lower staff levels.
