Hello,

I have a quick question. I have read that it takes a very long time to get visa from Israel ( where my SO is from) and it even states on their website that due to short staff they are running a SIGNIFICANT DELAY with visas. My question is this: He's originally from Ukraine and if he did have a ukrainian passport for instance but it's expired, can he renew it and will he be eligible to go to interview in ukraine? Can we request that rather than Israel?

Thanks to all replies!

12/14/09 - I-751 mailed

12/23/09 - Check cashed

12/28/09 - NOA1 (dated 12/21/09)

01/03/10 - I-797 NOA received for biometrics appt

01/26/10 - Biometrics appt.

01/27/10 - Touch

04/29/10 - Approved

reminder for myself: apply for citizenship in november 2010

Does he live in Israel? If he plans on going back to the Ukrain he will need his police report from Israel, this I know. Have you already filed the petition?

Yes, he lives in Israel and and Israeli citizen but i am not sure if he has a dual citizenship. No, i haven't filed yet, i am waiting to do so next week. Since i am meeting with him on Thursday i need to gather all the info ASAP so that i could get few extra copies with i guess Ukraine as the consulate we prefer.

Thanks

They have VWP for tourist but if you want to get married, K-1 is a visa option regardless of country.

YMMV

believe it or not, they do. i know many people denied visitor visas from israel.

Im lost...I was under the assumption she was applying for a K visa ...not a tourist visa. She said she was gathering info to "file"......she wouldnt be filing for him if it was a tourist visa.

Your not lost... she is looking at viable options to see if her fiance's K-1 visa could be issued out of Ukraine versus Israel since her fiance potentially holds dual citizenship.

Unfortunately he's only Israeli citizenship and it takes forever from Israel :(

I guess " patience" will be my middle name as soon as i'll send the papers!
