we filed i-485 on nov. 2004. we have paid 2 times for work permit because they cancelled the last appointement for nov 1st 2005. so we had to get a new work permit which cocts $180.00 now we are still waiting for new i-485 appointment. today i got a letter saying wife needs to go for another finger print because the time has expired and guess what? pay another $75.00 because they are late. i just don`t get it. is tampa florida that slow. and why do we have to pay this money again? is anyone else having these problems with the i-485? thanks for any help you can give.

If I were you I would get your congressman involved..... it is not right the way you are being treated.....

Hey gunner58! I think it is strange because when I do fingerprint for 2nd EAD back when we were in Florida that I didn't need to pay for. Actually I can tell you that I didn't even pay from the first time. I submmited AOS back in 2003 when we were in Utah. And when I went to do interview last year I didn't have to pay for fingerprint.

I think you better contact your congressman or senator to help you.

My husband had his fingerprints done a second time because they had expired, and there was no fee. The letter came from the Tampa office.
