Hi,

I'm just wondering, for those who received RFE, how much longer did you wait before USCIS provided NOA2 approval.

I had an RFE - "Fiancee Letter of Intent to Marry". I replied and USCIS received the document on 8/31/15, but until now they haven't provided NOA2 approval yet. :clock::clock::clock:

Hi Greenbaum,

Thank you for replying again

I called USCIS and I was told it could take up to 60 days.

I just don't understand why it's taking so long to approve a single document :huh::huh:

You're right though... I need to be patient. :clock::clock::clock:

USCIS process thousands and I mean thousands of applications for a visa. Think about this; I have read what people are submitting for their application and the supporting documentation and they are sending them in clear plastic sheets with three hole punch and placed in a 3-ring binder with tabs and pages with yellow annotation and and and..... I think you get my point. They have to wade through all that extra #######, just to get to the application. That is time taken away from the processing of your application.

So yes, 60 days is not unheard of but I believe it will be under 45 days. Just a little further to go. But, make your life a little easier and don't wrap your head so far around the processing stuff that you forget to enjoy life, family and your fiancé. Just my 2 centavos.

I see from your timeline that you now have your NOA2. Congratulations!

I did a quick review of California RFEs, using Igor's list to identify June and July filers. There are 64 RFEs that now have NOA2's. The median (half faster, half slower) is 18 days, with 3/4 hearing within 23 days. (I do not know from Igor's list if the RFE date is the date the RFE was received, or when the reply was sent.) Thus most people hear within 3 weeks.

I hope this helps.

Thank for for updating your timeline. (My Assistant, then edit/add my timeline.)

Yeah, I've been impatient. I've seen some applicants have there NOA2 approved after 5 days of RFE reply so I got concerned because mine is taking longer than that. But I'm glad I can move on now. :joy:

Only a quarter (in my sample) hear in less than 2 weeks. Less than one week is very lucky (rare).
