Please can anyone help? or has anyone got same message?

I'm feeling concerned, I had my K1 Visa Interview Monday 14th Sept, in London and I was told, at the interview, that I had been successful and I should receive my documents back in one week.

Today I have noticed my CEAC Status, its has changed from Ready to 'Administrative Processing'.

I get the following message in my status box:

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days.

Please let me know if anyone has had a similar experience?, I like to hear your experiences/advice.

It says it could take several weeks, then says if approved will be mailed within 2 days, What shall I do? Why was I told it was all ok & successful at interview?

There are two types of AP

If your visa was approved you are likely in the AP that means they are printing your visa. It should last a couple days max then your visa should be ready.

I hope this is the case, as the lady who interviewed, was friendly and me smiled and said I have been approved & will receive my docs back in a week.

I think she would have said something, if there was going to be any delays. Am I right in thinking this?

Thank you for your reply I think so too

How can we tell, the message is vague, also I was born in middle east and I lived in London all my life. This makes me feel there could be further delays.

I can only hope & check in a few days again.

Thank you for your reply

Because it's up to the CO to decide if they should run additional background checks (Security Advisory Opinions) or not. If the person interviewing you said they will issue the visa, they will issue the visa. You just had your interview two days ago and she said a week. If you were in the real AP, she would have notified you that you are in 221(g) per the INA code. If you did not get that slip, then you are not in the "REAL" AP. You just need to wait five more days and I'm sure your anxiety is for naught.

Oh I understand now and thank you so much for explaining this to me. So if I was in the real AP the lady at interview would have told me and give me a slip, but she didnt and said Approved & my docs will be returned to me in 1 week.

I had my interview on August 28th, the VO told me that my visa had been approved. After 2 weeks my ceac status changed from Ready to Administrative Processing. It's been 2 days and the status has not changed or been updated. Is this normal??

Yeah, it does that right before saying issued. Normally when it switches from "Ready" to "AP", your visa is being printed. Some USEM's change to Issued within a few hours. You may need to wait another week, but if it's longer than a week, you should email them and ask for further instructions.

London information below. I do not know what other consulates do.

There have been others who interviewed in London who were told approved, yet held in AP longer for the security checks. If it doesn't issue in a day or two, then that may be the case, especially since born in the Middle East. You would not be issued 221(g) for that in London. (I have been following London for 7+ years). Verbal approval can still have a longer AP. Let's hope that is not the case.
