Would you kindly decide if you are upset about this child getting arrested or not? You appear to be flip flopping and are now suggesting here that the issue is no longer zero tolerance run amok but instead a bad charging decision by the police who should have run with arresting him for copyright infringement.

Deconstructing and rebuilding things is how autodidacts learn. You break things, or find broken things and restore and remodel and try to build something new. I don't know how the kid could be termed a fraud. I have seen interviews and the kid has far more detailed efforts ongoing.

He has evidently fooled most of the major technology leaders in America, Schmidt, Zuckerberg, Wozniak, Gates into providing moral support for his fraud. I have met folks of this caliber in tech, not easy folks to dupe. Or maybe they recognize a piece of themselves in Ahmed: A nerdy kid trying to fit in and find support from peers and teachers while staying true to his passion.

The adults on the other hand paid public servants charged with these children's training and safety. If they thought it was a bomb, why did they not evacuate or remove the device ( because they did not think it was a bomb) If they thought this was a potential criminal offense, why did they lie to Ahmed when he asked if he could see his parents and say no? If they thought there was no clear threat then why handcuff Ahmed? And why suspend him for three days?

Hysteria, Xenophobia, Reactionary behavior and they type of narrow mindedness that does not belong to the folks leading and protecting our children.
