Thanks NepoCat... that was a quick answer. How soon do they send the file? How close to the interview date? Because mine still shows its in NVC.

If your husband already has interview letter in his hand, please ask your husband to take medical. If your husband in dhaka ask him to take medical exam at wahab's chamber. It is best so far.

Gather all remaining necessary docs as indicated in interview letter, gather wedding photos (must).

Dont worry about NVC status at this moment. NVC sends those documents on time in batch. Your husbands case will be at consulate before interview.

Consulate will mail you after they got your case file in their hand.

Hello Shkrz1,

I was reading about your wife's interview experience. It stopped my heartbeat. Because my husband also applied for visit visa last year. Do they do that in the interview, do they scare people like that? I am so worried. My husband's interview is next month.

So they did not ask your wife anymore questions? What did you include in your I-130 packet?

It depends on interviewing officer. The day I was interviewed, there were 2 officer, both were nice and friendly. That day I saw another officer for few minutes who was not friendly.

Thank you bappi48 for your reply. Yes he knows about the medical and everything else is being done too. My only concern was the files being sent off from NVC to the consulate. Now I am a little relieved.

I have another question though. Did you have your marriage certificate registered in foreign ministry? Is it necessary?

Oic... I thought so... it definitely depends on the officer. Yes I have read that your interview went smoothly. I have read some officers are very friendly and then others are not. Thank you for your reply.

Actually we did receive a welcome email letter from the US embassy, is that the email you are talking about or is there going to be a mail delivery?

File will sent to consulate within 30 to 5 days before interview, If u have the interview letter just do the medical and seat relax, you dont hav to be worried. NVC must send the files before interview.

Also u should attested all civil document from foreign ministry. You will need 2 days. For marriage certificate, you have go law ministry first, then foreign ministry. Law ministry receive file 9.30 to 10.30 and deliver after 3.00 PM and foreign ministry receive file 9.30 to 11.30 AM and deliver after 3.00 PM. Do it yourself, dont go for broker (Dalal). Foreign Ministry has long serial, so go early morning.

For my case: I only submitted those documents to NVC which we got from marriage register office. we did not certified from law ministry and foreign ministry. However I took another set of copy (photocopy certainly) to interview certified by law ministry and foreign ministry [birth certificate, marriage certificate, nikah nama]. But during interview officer did not asked me any extra paper.

Certainly you can take all seals and sign by yourself from foreign ministry and law ministry. But if you dont want any hassle, You can contact people infront of press club or purana paltan. They will take approximately 200 taka per page. within 2 days they will return your doc with all necessary seal.

How ever in front of press club you also can find some people who can help to take all seals within same day but they may take more taka.

Hi,

I have my interview next month as well. I was wondering if you can help answer a few questions for me:

1) Is it compulsory to attest all the documents? I know you were not asked for it, but do they normally require attested copies?

2) For medical, do I need to carry my immunization records with me?

Thank you

1) Is it compulsory to attest all the documents? I know you were not asked for it, but do they normally require attested copies?

2) For medical, do I need to carry my immunization records with me?

Thank you

Answering question 1:

If you have already sent original copies to NVC then dont worry. If you only sent photocopies of your docs to NVC and you have originals in your hand then I suggest to attest those to be on safe side and have mental peace. [for my scenario, I sent original's to NVC, but later someone told me that those originals need to be attested by law and foreign ministry. So I was not sure what to do. So I grabbed 1 set photocopy of my all documents, then notarized it; then took law and foreign ministry seal. However, during interview they never asked me anything about it]

Answering question 2:

If I understand correctly, if you have taken previous immunization injection and you have records then take those records to medical office. This may save some immunization cost (may be). I strongly suggest to go to wahab's chamber if you are in dhaka. I heard some negative comments about other places.

Medical office will directly send medical report to US consulate. You dont have to carry anything by yourself to interview. During interview, consulate will return your medical records (patients copy) to you to carry during USA travel to show at POE.

Thank you for your reply and advice Nepo Cat and bappi48. We will see what we can do about getting the civil documents certified by foreign ministry.

May I ask what negative comments did you hear from the other places. Did they not check properly? Do they not send the documents on time? :(

Wahab's office charges 3950 taka + 500tk for vaccination. The staffs at the office was nice.

To give an example: One guy during interview told me the green crescent took more than 5000 thousand from him. one of this friend has to give even more than 6500 taka. They even dont give exact money receipt. They say the extra money is for vaccination. Some staffs attitude is rude also.
