Earliest my fiancé can have his interview?

The NVC recieved my case today on September 15! (So happy). I know it's usually at NVC for less than a week for them to send it to the U.S. embassy.

Once the embassy gets the case from NVC, they will send the email on completing everything required for the appointment.

My fiancé has already gathered all the documents required for the interview, and I've sent him my affidavit of support (with supporting proof).

All that's left is getting the medical exam and then he's ready to complete the DS 160, pay the interview fee and schedule the interview.

So, since we aready have everything we need (except for the medical exam which he will complete soon), is it possible he can attend the visa interview as early as, let's say, October 1 (17 days from now)? If not, when do you think is the earliest possible time?

I'm just making estimates based on my knowledge and the research I've done on how long each step takes.

I'm just making estimates based on my knowledge and the research I've done on how long each step takes.

You'll have to wait to find out.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Depends on the consulate, but probably not. For MTL, Canada the EARLIEST interview is almost always one and a half months after they give you permission to schedule your interview. They also only open up slots to schedule at certain times, so if you miss that, you have to wait another couple of weeks.

I don't know how fast your consulate is, but again, if you were to schedule one at MTL you're looking at Nov 1st as the earliest.

You're looking at a week of mail time, and then the consulate has to log it. It took MTL 9 days to log our case after receiving it.

By the time it's logged, it will probably be the last week in September, and you also have to schedule medical. Some places you can't get medical that quickly, and then you'll also need to give them a week to process the paperwork/run tests for the medical.

So no, I don't think it's possible to have the interview on Oct 1st when your case is still at the NVC.

----------

For my timeline:

June 2nd NOA2
June 25th Case number assigned
June 30th Sent to MTL
July 7th MTL recieved
July 16th MTL logged - once logged THEN you can start the process to schedule medical and interview, and that is also a process.

I understand where you're coming from but I doubt it will take until November 1st due to my embassy known for being speedy with the process.

I say that because the Bosnian embassy that I'm applying with allows you to schedule an appointment if you call them even before they send the email, as long as you inform them that you have everything required, plus your case number. The Bosnian embassy also has appointment availability as early as within a week.

Every embassy/consulate is different. I suppose it all depends on our luck! Thanks for your thorough reply.

Heley, he must have his tax transcripts, his pay stubs and an employment letter when he sends you the affidavit of support form to prove he makes enough income to support you financially.

I would suggest hiring a lawyer to see what your best option is since you're in a tough situation.

If you haven't heard from the embassy, call them and see what's going on with your case (be sure to have your case number from NVC). Good luck!

My case is already is the embassy .filled ds-160 and also paid the visa fee. We explained our situation to the but accept waiting he can't do anything bout it even if u hire a lawyer . But he already got his pay stubs and letter from his company also his mom will join wit the co-sponsorship. Hope the tax transcript thing don't cost us problems.

I can take our kids as a proof to my interview right?
