they are a complete waste of time and space for civilians, imo. expensive, ostentatious, and resource hogs. one can do the same thing with the average pickup that most of them are used for and still save money and gas. their real purpose is hardly ever realized by the average civilian user.

I'm proud to say that I drive an expensive, ostentatious, time and space wasting resource hog, but then, there is nothing average about me!

Local brewery advertises that it's beer is Solar brewed. Turns out that they pay a small amount to be able to say they are supporting solar electricity, the electricity that they actually use is coal produced.

Apparently Gore does something similar in 'buying' 'credits' for renewable energy research to offset his Personal Plane use. Surely better not to create the problem in thge first place if you are so worried about it.
