AOS applications are not sent to the service centers. They are all routed from the Chicago Lockbox to the NBC for processing. Some stay there and get approved without interview. Others are sent to your local USCIS office where you will have an interview.

They all have receipt numbers that begin with MSC. That is the National Benefits Center. They are processed there, not at any of the regular service centers. Nothing for your AOS will be done at the TSC. It will take about 60-90 days to receive the EAD/AP. The green card approval will take months. It will depend on whether or not you get an interview waiver or not. Those being approved without an interview are having to wait longer, some over a year. All the adjustment of status applications are first sent to the USCIS (National Benefits Center) in Missouri to be reviewed. This office determines if the case will be waived for an interview. They have been backlogged in the past year, so to help process the cases faster, they started sending cases to other USCIS offices to help review the case. Other USCIS office can be ANY. I live in Missouri, but after review and receiving the interview waiver NBC has sent my AOS case to Tampa, Florida, where decision has been made.

Well, only USCIS knows that :) But now it looks like they trend to waive for an interview 90% of AOS from K1/K2... so, yes, the only thing we can do about that is just wait.. Hope, it wont take too long for you and you will hear some good news soon!!
Good Luck!!! :)

Hi all,

I know this is an old thread. My 485 got sent to NBC along with the 765. It says online that the EADs take minimum 5.5 months there!!! Has anyone recently had their EAD processes at NBC or does it get transferred? We might need to try and expedite with a job offer letter.
