My wife is slightly below the income requirement as regards her annual salary from her job but she receives child support which makes us to be over the the income requirement. Please has anybody used income from child support as a proof of extra income? What will the USCIS say about this?

I think there's something about using child support to make the income requirement. Not quite sure..better wait until someone better informed comes along

I used it. And it is a perfectly acceptable source of income per USCIS guidelines.

It needs to be verifiable. If it is paid through the courts, then this is your best source for verification. Have your wife get a copy of the ledger from the entity that sends her the checks. She should also send her settlement agreement from the divorce showing the monthly amount.

I did not have court records. I used a years worth of bank statements showing the monthly deposits of the support checks and it worked for me.

I am one of those that used mine as well. My ex gives me a check and I made copies of two of them, along with the portion of the divorce settlement (not the whole thing though) that highlights his responsibility as far as child support. I did this with the I-134 and the I-864.
