the EAD takes between 60 to 90 days to get from filing date. The biometric appointment is really painless and all you need to bring with you is the biometrics letter you received and your passport as identification.

K1 Journey:

April 13/06 NOA1 from NSC

June 1/06 - Moved to CSC

August 12/06 APPROVED - NOA2!!

August 28/06 Left NVC. . . Vancouver Bound!

September 27/06 Interview APPROVED, with visa in hand

October 29/06 Moving Date

December 30/06 Married!!

AOS Journey:

January 16/07 Sent out AOS, EAD, and AP docs

January 23/07 NOA1's for AOS, EAD and AP

February 13/07 Biometrics in Portland, OR

April 7/07 EAD and AP Received

April 24/07 Interview Scheduled . . . and APPROVED, stamp and all!

May 7/07 Greencard is in my hands!

ROC Journey:

February 17/09 Sent I-751 to CSC

February 18/09 NOA1

March 14/09 Biometrics appt.

April 22/09 Date of Approval!!

June 25/09 Greencard arrives in the mail!

touches means, when you check your case on uscis-webpage(when you sign up for it) you can see what date your case has been updated last.

This is explained by the fact that they scan your file when they "touch" it. Sometimes your case can be touched without any update which means, the updated date is changed but the status is still the same.

AOS approved without interview appears in cases i.e. when the files has been forwarded to CSC for further processing (due to too many files at the other offices like MSC...). Mostly you will be approved without any interview. But do not misunderstand it, only being forwarded to CSC does not mean that an approval with no interview and no RFEs are garanteed. Sometimes CSC send out the RFEs or also send the file back to the Services Center which will be followed by an interview. But in general it is a good sign that the case has been forwarded to CSC.

we went for his appointment yesterday. We showed the security guard the appointment letter, we filled out a form, and then they took his picture and finger prints. The whole thing took about 10 minutes. I honestly thought it was gonna take a long time, or that the place would be packed. I even took off work for it

My wife and daughter had their biometrics yesterday (03/01/2007), everything went very well, didn't take more than 1/2 hour total, everyone there (Detroit) were very friendly and helpful. Remember to take your passport with the I-94 enclosed, your biometrics appointment letter, and your marriage certificate (they requested to see this).
