Does anyone know or have any stories of what happens (if it ruins the K1 process) if a new passport is issued while they are waiting for NVC to send off the case to their country?

The NOA2 has been received already but no interview has been set up.

The beneficiary passport expires in less than 6 months - and they cannot enter the US on an expire or soon to be expired Passport is my understanding.

Any insight ??

2nd go round

1st K-1 Denied

Subitted Feb 2-6-15

NOA1 - 2-18-15

NOA2 - 8-18-15

Interview 11-25-15 - Denied

And Here we go again -

New K1 submitted - 1-9-16

NOA1 - 1-12-16 (according to USCIS)

Text received 1-15-16

hardcopy - not received yet as of 1-26-16

I renewed my passport after I filed the DS-160. No problem what so ever. But the CO advised me it was good that I had brought the old one with me. Just make sure you update the info on the AIS site. (again as per CO's remark)

I'm not in this situation but as I'm here to help others I am curious about learning more... What is AIS? According to google it's a way identifying and locating ships and vessels...
