I just got an RFE, sahing FilipinoCupid.com is an International Marriage Broker. The RFE ask for a copy of th signed written consent form that Fc obtianed from the beneficiary authorizing the release of her personal contact information.

Has anyone else had USCIS say that FilipinoCupid is an International Marriage Broker?

Any idea how to handle this? FilipinoCupid never gave me any contact information. We used their email until we shared contact information on our own initiative.

had the same issue with uscis, you would think they would learn by now. all i did was print out filipinocupid.com terms and agreements and highlight the one section that specifically states that filipinocupid.com is not a marriage broker. i also made a cover letter stating that. we were approved the day after i sent it in.

There is a concern for all those who are using "dating sites" online and USCIS does not want nor will the grant a visa to anyone who is meeting on a website that advocates being a marriage broker. It's amazing, just recently I have addressed with a total of 6 other VJ'ers and my thought is that there must be a lot of new agents at USCIS that is processing the applications and they may not be familiar with some of the sites. So they are just sending out RFE's.

Here is what you do. Go over to FilipinoCupid, to the terms of service page (http://www.filipinocupid.com/en/general/termsofuse) and print it and put a cover letter that this is your enclosure of evidence that FC is not a marriage broker. It would serve your purpose if you were to outline any statement that reputes that they are not a marriage broker. Also, in your cover letter state that you and your fiancé, under your own free will, discovered each other and began a conversation that has lead to a relationship and the desire to marry. That not at anytime have you or her exchanged monetary compensation to FC, or anyone other person or entity, for the arrangement of our marriage. That you are doing this of your own free will. Then both of you sign the letter and enclose with the TOS and mail in answer to your RFE.

That should take care of it.
