Interview :

At 1:30 pm in 511 broadway , portland OR, got there 20 minutes early. Lots of swearing in ceremonies. We kept original interview letter in basket out front and sat in the room 106.

Called in at 1:50 pm around, nice lady (Martha, Marsha?) came and introduced herself. We introduced ourselves.

Came to her desk. She swore us in under oath.

Ask to sit.

Asked for my passport, SSN, EAD card. Also jazz’z ID. Took a look and return back everything except my EAD. She said I won’t need it anymore.

Then jazz went for restroom.

She asked me last entry to US was january 2006, I said yes. What was first time I told her in aug 2001 and as a student at VCU for PhD in pharmaceutical chemistry.

She was nice when I moved to portland, I told her when and why. She asked how do I like it?

I blabbered about how traffic in delhi , DC and portland. Weather in portland rainy.

Then jazz came back. She confirmed her info on I-130 as like name mom’s name phone no etc

Asked how we met. Told them about jan and febuary 1, 2 and 3 date. Met her mom in feb end.

Se told us since not living together they have high bar for us.

She asked for documents with common name. I gave her jazz’s health insurance details with me as dependent and my BOA credit card letter with both cards copy with same number stapled. She kept those.

She asked for marriage ceremony pics.

Why in portland. We told coz doesn’t matter, this time was as good as any coz parents into religious one.

Asked why now since you are still separated. Said coz we thought at one point he is coming back on thanksgiving or dec. but since more work in PhD expected to finish in may 2007. I told her I was gonna be done in dec 2006 but since moved boss gave 6 months extra and thus expected to finish in may 2006.

Asked for income proof, I showed her my and jazz’z job proof. My and jazz job proof to see if we make more than 60,000 to sustain our marriage. She said fine so returned jazz’s mom papers from I864 A because we make enough income.

Then read questions from I485 about illegal stuff, no wife children etc I said “No” to all.

Last she said, this is first time she is stamping somebody who are not living together but because we are both educated and it paid off for us and also plethora of papers we provided her convinced her that we are married.

Then she stamped my passport with 2 months validity green card stamp and said we should get my green card in 2 weeks but maximum of 2 months.

Hope this helps guys ...Good luck to everybody
