Hi, all,

I know this is a silly question and it’s me being impatient (I understand that for some people, the process takes a much longer time), but I am a little concerned about how long it’s taking me to get my green card.

At the end of December, my green card application was transferred to the CSC – presumably for processing without the need for an interview.

I was touched three times in quick succession in mid-January and I was getting myself all excited, thinking it would arrive soon - yet it seems to have ground to a halt since then. I got a Case Status Update via Email saying that in late December, they had transferred the case to CSC (?) in early February but not heard anything since. No touches or anything.

I’ve noticed that a number of people who have filed a month or so after I did (mid-late-November) have had their green cards for a while. I was just wondering if there was a logjam somewhere in the system for certain cases that anyone might know about? I’ve had a look on the forum and I can’t see anything…

I presume that I shouldn’t bother calling the US CIS helpline.

Generally, we speculate that this kind of delay is due to namecheck processing. Really, it's hard to know, though -- the whole process is such a black hole, and we're never given any kind of information about the status of our cases. Check out the CSC transfer thread -- you're likely to find lots of people with processing patterns similar to yours.

Hang in there, and best wishes for speedy processing.

Conditions Removed! Ten-year green card received 6/24/2009. No more USCIS for a very long time.

Hi, there,

Thanks for the best wishes.

I have quite a common name, so I did worry that I would get 'picked' for namecheck processing.

I checked the CSC transfer thread. Most people who filed around the time that I did have their GC, but there are the odd ones who don't.

Keeping my fingers crossed!

My name is not common at all, and I am also stuck in FBI name check. And I also check for touches so many times a day and nothing so far. I know I should be patient, but this thing is driving me crazy.
