Hello to all VJers!
Fist time to post here, please help me out..

Dear Xxxxxxxxx, Xxxxxxx:

REF CASE: MNL2015xxxxxx

Congratulations on your upcoming immigrant visa interview. Your file is now with the U.S. Embassy in Manila and we have had a chance to review it. Based on our review, you need to bring the following documents with you to your interview:

AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT

From your Petitioner: Xxxxxxxx

It appears the Affidavit of Support you provided is incomplete. Please provide the following:

- W-2 Form(s) for 2014

FROM APPLICANT(S)

- Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for Xxxxxxxx, Xxxxxxx

- Marriage Certificate issued by the PSA Philippine Statistics Authority for Xxxxxxxx, Xxxxxxx

- Medical examination results for Xxxxxxxx, Xxxxxxx

CLEARANCES

- National Bureau of Investigations (NBI) Clearance issued within the past 12 months for Xxxxxxxx, Xxxxxxx

Please remember to bring with you:

- A valid passport and all expired passports for each applicant.

- A confirmation page from your DS-260 online application for each visa applicant.

- If you have lived in a country other than the Philippines or the United States for more than 12 months, please submit a police clearance from that country. For more information please go to: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country.html, search for the country you lived in before, and look at the information provided in the "police records" section.

We hope this email helps you prepare for your interview. If you are unable to obtain all of the requested documents, you may still attend your interview at the U.S. Embassy. However, if you do not bring these documents to your interview, it will delay the issuance of your visa.

To facilitate a timely processing of immigrant visa applications, all applicants are reminded to register their delivery address online. Failure to designate a delivery address prior to your appointment date will result in delayed delivery of your passport and visa. To register online, click on the “Select Document Delivery Address” link under the Immigrant Visas section of our website (http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/). Once there, click on the appropriate link to register a delivery address for the first time, or to change an existing delivery address. If you have any question(s) on how to register a delivery address, please contact Manila’s Visa Information and Appointment Service Center at (632) 976-8500, (632) 976-8501 or (632) 976-8502.

Sincerely,

Immigrant Visa Section

So finally we've heard from the USEM regarding our upcoming immigrant visa interview and what we needed to bring. It just seems odd that NVC did not request any oft the husband's W-2 Forms for 2014 and so we thought we did a great job in submitting all the required docs they asked from us.

My interview is less than 2 weeks from now. I already have my (PSA) MC, BC, NBI, passport and DS-260 confirmation except my medical which I will get done next week.

Anyway, I just wanted to know if the W-2 Forms they are asking should be in original form or photocopies will do? Husband already sent me scanned copies but just to make sure what is advisable?

Also, do I still need to submit my CENOMAR even if I'm already married? I read some posts here that they we're asked to do so.

Thanks and will greatly appreciate any response.

Scan copies of w-2 will be ok. I am not sure why they ask for that either. Unless they got lost

Yes you will need to get another cenomar for the interview. What you will actually get is a cemar or statement of marriage. when you ask for cenomar if you are single you will get certificate of no marriage

If you are married you will get statement of marriage. The issue of the visa will be delay without it

certificate of no marriage = CENOMAR

statement of marriage = CEMAR

You'll fill out an application or request for a CENOMAR but instead of the Certificate of Singleness, you will get the CEMAR (a.k.a. Advisory on Marriages). It will show all previous and present marriage/s.

I know, it makes no sense to file paperwork for a CENOMAR and be given an CEMAR but hey this is the Philippines.

I have more information on getting a CEMAR/CENOMAR at this link, scroll down about a quarter of the page where I talk about the process.

The op is interviewing in manila the documents will be in english. The only documents needed to be translated would be a police clearance from another country if needed. The docucuments do not need to be notarized. As they will be issue by the NBI and PSA (aka NSO) Of the Philippines. Also copies of gifts receipts plane tickets. Boarding pass not needed. Agree the op should bring some pictures to the interview. When my wife did her interview in Manila besides the require documents pictures of us was the only other thing they wanted to see

Thanks for the reply Greenbaum.

Its just doesn't make sense if I needed to bring a CEMAR at the interview, why didn't USEM make it clear and include that in the lists?

If I didn't ask here I'd be clueless! So do you think I can get the CEMAR before the 23rd this month?

We did not submit any of the husband's w-2 at the NVC and if they needed that they would have sent us an rfe.

What is actually the purpose of the CEMAR? I wasn't married before. USEM should have made it clear if I needed to bring that at the interview but all they requested was husband's w-2 aside from my PSA MC, BC, and NBI clearance.

Pardon me for asking but it seems rather odd that they would delay the visa process for an item that through out the entire process has never been requested or for that matter never been discussed or mentioned. So I am curious, have you been married before? If so, that could be the reason they requested it. Since my wife has not been married and they know this from all the information we have been required to submit, it stands to reason that is why it has not been requested. Can you please reply to my question.

It would be absurd for the American embassy to delay the process if they have never requested this information and typically that is not the way American Government works. They are very detailed and specific in what they are needing. thank you for your time and response. We appreciate all your input.

what does any of that have to do with the questions that were asked. All the information you are stating has already been submitted in the process and has not been requested for the final interview. They question was, "why now are they asking for the w2's?" and "What is a cenomar?' Thanks

I did not mean they will delay the process. I meant they will not issue your visa untill they have the cenomar. Me or my wife had never been married before. In fact i had a disagreement on that.i told her she did not need it. My wife told me that she did. At the interview they did ask her for it. Also recently i seen other members get approve but they had to wait for the visa to be issue because they did not have the cenomar. You can search on here for recent post about the subject. Why it is not listed.I do not know maybe it is a new requirement they are asking for.

You should have enough time to get the cenomar before the interview. If not your wife can bring it after she is approve and then the visa will be issue

I find it strange, and do not have access to IR-1 Embassy Letter so it's hard for me to be accurate in my reply, that it is not included the EL. K-1 visa EL, the requirement is listed.

I know it doesn't make sense but you have to understand "the person with the gold makes the rules" and right now, USEM has your future in their hands and they asking for a document, I think it would behoove you to comply. Thank god you have found this out now then during the interview.

Yes it is possible to get your CEMAR by the 23rd.

And I repeat, you need to have the maximum evidence that your marriage is not efficiently. To you it was not necessary and once again ask for a second interview. I myself passed through the proc.
