Affidavits sworn - Marriage

Question:

Many people here say that you don't need the sworn Affidavit (for proof of marriage) notarized or confirmed by a third party but by definition that's what an Affidavit is.

Does anyone have an answer to this and where you can have the Affidavit made "official", if necessary?

The marriage cert is what makes your wedding legal and official, not some random statement by a friend who could easily lie for you.

Thought about submitting affidavits from friends and family but they were all in the wedding photos. So we decided against sending. Used only the wedding and reception photos plus some other docs. If we had submitted any it would have been her godmother or godfather (both public officials, notaries, and witnesses to the wedding) who would have notarized them.

So to answer your question any notary can do it.
