We found Timmy's in CT today in New London and Groten and Mystic.. They are all up the coast for heaven's sake. We were so excited we pulled in and promptly ate a Boston Cream, Sour Cream and had a Med coffee..

WHO KNEW the US sizes sm, md, lg were equavilent to the CDN med, lg and x-large. I ordered a med not thinking and they came out with a large. My mouth was on the floor!! HOLY.

Flames, I played Roll up the rim today as well.. You will be happy to know I didn't win nothing.. other than the right to "play again". I blame fully the fact that I was unable to drink the full med (really LG) cup and had to pour some of the precious coffee out in order to roll up the rim - spoiled my luck I say..

My first USA tim hortons Experience was in RI, close to Newport. Went in and asked for a XL triple cream coffee, the chick comes back with this huge styrofoam cup with cold coffee!! lol What the hell's that!! She explained XL only came in cold coffee, lol So I got my large (which was XL in Canada) only to find out they didnt put enough cream in!! And i do belive they don't use 18% cream like they do in Canada, but I could be wrong. I plan on being back in Canada near the end of June for 3 weeks. lots of tims and cold beer.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Was just informed by my parents it's Roll Up the Rim to Win time, at Timmys!!! Such a cruel cruel world!! Why can't I be good looking and have a Tims! Life just isn't fair

*sigh* All I won was a free coffee....and I got that before we left West Virginia. Oh well, such is life. Free Timmy's is better than none at all. :)

Oh I do believe you are right! There is nothing like Canadian cream! And I do believe the water source has something to do with the taste. *can't wait to get a Timmy's from Canada one of these days*

the other day my daughter and i were discussing the age old question for Americans of " where were you the day JFK was shot?" and how it was replaced with " where were you on 9/11?"...........for Canadians the question is " where did you have your first Tims?"

I stopped at Tim's yesterday...got a med and won nothing.....so today I was looking forward to having a "large" canadian size and well it came in the plain ole cup...roll up must be done here in SE Sask....damn. I didn't win a thing. Not even a coffee....

My first Tims experience was in 1986 (gosh that is dating me) in Kentville, NS...I was a participant in the Katimavik program and we were out for a walk and one of the other participants was elated "LOOK A TIMS"....me being from rural Sask is thinking ####### is wrong with this person. Then we went inside.....the smells...the sights.....and omg I think I just gained 10 pounds looking. It seemed to take forever for a Tims to open in Smalltown, SK.....so I'm glad I spent about 15 years in Calgary....there was a Tims on my way to work near the airport. Lovin' Tims.

OK, I must admit I'm lucky because when my ppwk goes through....well I will only be 1 hr from a Cdn Tims. (not rubbing it in or anything)...lol.

Have a great day!!!

*sighs dreamily* My first Timmy's experience was in Shelburne NS, on the way home from the airport in Halifax. I had never had one...Joel was so eager to introduce me to one of life's incredible pleasures....mmmmmmm....I was hooked at the first sip.

Dear dear flames,

I feel for you .... must confess that even when I work part-time at Second Cup (fun, tips, free coffee), when it's RUTRTWin time, I do my Tim's mostly every day.... not that I have EVER won a thing, not even a free coffee.

Promise that if I win a coffee, I will think of you!!!!
