Thank you everyone for all your help and comments. Good or bad they show that everyone has a different opinion. I just received an email from the Manila embassy. They said she never scheduled or attended the medical or interviews. I was scammed. This really breaks my heart. All the sleepless nights and sacrifices I endured for the last 10 months were for nothing. How could someone be so cruel? And now I am in financial ruin. I wonder if she can be prosecuted for what she has done to me?

wow... I'm speechless. That is something I'd never expect to hear at this point. Did you even have any clue this could be scammed? I'm so sorry to hear how it turned out.

As for the person who was shocked someone asked if she was willing to leave her six year old behind. The OP answered that yes, she is willing to leave her six year old son behind.

This whole thing just wreaks of you two wanting to be together at unreasonable costs, like some kind of toxic blind love.

We tell you to have a relationship with her son, you ask what exactly are the requirements. It's hard to believe that someone who already has a child doesn't understand parent/child bonding.

I missed the post that she IS willing to abandon her son. In the 11 years I've been a child advocate, and in every case I've seen in which a mother abandoned her child, the results on the child have been catastrophic.

I was raised, and still live in a farming community. When a farm animal abandons her offspring, she's put down.......

This woman is willing to dump her own child in return for life in the USA. She's beyond despicable.

Well in case you missed it she turned out to be a scammer. Don't think she ever intended to leave her son anywhere. She was just playing along for more money most likely.

I just now saw this. Sadly I doubt anything can be done legally. Karma is a ***** and she will get what she deserves in due time. What a nightmare. :-(

Someone is looking out for you. If you prefer younger foreign women, Find a religious gal and take your time. Enjoy the process of falling in love. So many women would love to be in love with a caring experienced American man. It's what we're known to be: kind, compassionate, caring, ans willing to make that leap of faith. Take a few steps back and realize that this could have been far, far worse than the pain and humiliation you undoubtedly feel now.

True! I know a man here in my community who brought a lady to the USA on a K1. She married, and stayed with him until she had her green card, then she packed her bags and vanished while he was at work.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and compassion. It will take a while to heal but I like to look on the bright side. I avoided a disaster if I was to marry her. The embassy has responded to my email and they gave me instructions on how to start the process to take action against her. Not sure anything will come of it but it should prevent her from scamming again. This is a great forum for information. Thank again everyone.

You visited her place right? So you actually know where she's from and her real name. Let me know where and it is also possible that you write a complaint to the local police on her city. I will help you get the contact info of the local police. If you write a complaint, it will be on record, she will have a police record on file on her locality. Some people are doing this kind of thing because they know you cannot do anything to go after them, of course what can you do if you are on another country. You will not be spending money just to run after her and just let go of everything. Well, we have a community here in VJ maybe we can help you in any way. I am in PH and maybe I can help you even if to just file a complaint.

Most people here are telling you that you must make a stronger effort. I hope you do not resent that advice, but instead take it to heart. You have not gone through great hardship compared to some VJ members.

I can empathize with your feeling that pictures are not a high priority with you--I'm not much of a picture guy myself. But the reality is that most people nowadays take a lot of pictures, and if you don't, it shows up as an obvious gap in your evidence. It's not hard to accumulate enough pictures if you make it a priority.

hi OP I've read all the posts on this topic. It is not a joke that you have spent a lot of $$$ towards your fiancee here in the Philippines.
I'm very sorry that you have encountered this type of people who digs money out of foreigners' pockets :(

I think the embassy already informed you what to do with her but please report her to NBI or the local police. So she will have a record and possibly cannot acquire an NBI clearance in the future.

Next time, please take your time to get to know the person you are marrying. there are a lot of kind-hearted people here in the Philippines, but there are also some people who take advantage of foreigners, because they think they have a lot of money.

I don't want to make assumptions of what her work is, but you said you met her and spent 5 days with her and yet both of you decided to be engaged. a huge red flag. she has a son that you haven't spent enough time with. another huge red flag. the previous comments already said that the CO will definitely deny you. Always remember, money doesn't equate to love.

please comply with the requirements about the divorce decrees in the US embassy. when you enter USEM, they staple a paper that has the list of requirements needed, it is written there that you need the divorce decrees. YES, you are right about that being included in Petition, but you STILL have to comply with this requirement.

it is almost always needed in CFO/GCP, a seminar that we ALL filipinos are required to take before immigrating for. if you have no sticker and certificate the immigration officer will refuse you to board the plane. Again this is required. there will be another interview there and if they find your relationship is not bonifide, they will refuse you to have a the cfo sticker w/c immigration officers will look. they are on the watch for fraudulent marriages, I went to CFO oct 22, so this information is fresh. so next time if your doing K1 again, better be prepared.

I hope that you take this exp. positively. Don't blame yourself. We are human, we sometimes fall in love with the wrong person.
