Petition for Parent - Documents to bring to the interview

Ok so my GF has just got the letter from NVC, saying they have forwarded the application to the embassy in Paraguay, and scheduled an interview for her mum in a couple of weeks. She needs to do a medical first, and bring a few documents with her.

All sounds good, but there is one potential issue:

On the letter from NVC, the document checklist at the end, where each document has a letter next to it, and explains the current status of the document;

There is one 'J' for police certificate from Argentina, which means they only received a photocopy, and she needs to bring the original to the interview.

Her mum lived in Argentina a long time ago for just over a year. She went there to get the police certificate a few months ago. From what I understand they gave her a link of some sort, something she had to go online, download herself and print off, as they do not offer any 'original' certificates as it was a long time ago.

Firstly if they do not provide original certificates - what is she supposed to do?

Secondly (unfortunately) this was all done through a lawyer. The lawyers office (so secretary, not him personally), has said all she needs is her passport, medical certificate and photos to take to the interview, that everything else has been already sent by the lawyer, including all certificates. They said that if she explains at the embassy that the document she got from Argentina is the only thing they offer, that it should be OK, and worse case scenario they will just tell her to come back again when she has the document.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation, or can advise?

Thanks.

Yes they will have her return with docs that is needed why wait,

embassy at times differs, but be sure that she have with her at

interview original birth cert, PP, supporting evidences of relationship

(just in case) PP photos & police records from all countries lived in over

6 mths...Your fiancé should contact the nearest Argentina consulate

& have them furnish her a letter that the process is for her to only obtain

on line. You should try to prevent un-necessary delays
