Great info!

Does anyone know if they a line or do they make the process easier for senior citizen? (maybe waiting time)

Thanks

Hi there. I don't think they have special treatment. I was with an old lady when I entered the building on the first day; I finished earlier than her.

N400:

November 19, 2023: NVC Received

December 11, 2023: DQ'ed

September 30, 2024: Interview Letter

So I have 2 questions for this thread:

1) Is it possible to schedule this process much earlier?, just to have it completed, or do you need to wait until the NVC tells you to go?

2)Do they in fact keep your passport after this until your interview? I think I read that in another post.

Basically I would like to send my wife to Manila to visit with her old friends there, and at the same time knock out the Medical exam, We have just now paid the AOS bill and I have all the pertanent documents that they could possibly ask for later, Money isnt an issue, so basically all our ducks are in a row, but it is a bit early, Im trying to avoid a big delay if a sputum test is needed, although she just recently had a chest xray for somthing unrelated and it came back normal. So is it too early for us?

:time: This is first and foremost can you please change your profile so others can see what visa you are chasing. Simple steps to change your profile; Select your picture>Edit Your Profile located under your picture and scroll to the bottom of that page to "immigration profile" and you will see "Immigration Status". Use the drop down box to choose your visa type. Then save and now we know what visa you are after. While you are there maybe there some other requests that you can fill in.

Just do a close estimation as to the dates. They will help you see when others are getting approvals and when you might expect yours.

Official word from USEM on medical scheduling:

Applicants are advised to have their medical examinations done 5-7 working days prior their interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Manila; failure to complete the exam within the prescribed time frame may result in significant visa processing delays.

http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3218.html

Can you do what you're asking? The answer is yes, if EVERYTHING is perfect as in your health. If something is a miss with your health and requires additional testing then the answer is no. So you have to ask yourself, am I feeling lucky!

To the OP, sorry for hacking into your post.

Greenbaum, will it be okay if I have made an appointment 5-7 working days prior to my medical then if my medical turns out great and no issues can I change my interview appointment into an earlier date?

Do you mean making the interview appointment 5-7 AFTER the medical, not prior?

Embassy states to complete the medical AT LEAST 5-7 days before the interview date. I would not try to push on that too hard.

Yea. I meant after. Ok. I won't better be according to their guidelines.

Like Hank says, try and do it at least 5-7 business days prior to your interview. The Embassy states this, as well as us veterans here on VJ concur with the Embassy, because your visa validity is only 6 months long and it is based on the medical date and not the visa issuance date.
