NVC case specialist asked for police certificate

Hi

on july I got a checklist of marriage certificate, DS260 and some part of AOS. my case is under supervisor review now since more than 30 days is passed for review.

Today I called NVC and the case specialist told me a police certificate. proof of residency in sweden is missing and I have not sent it with my checklist

i told her that it was not asked in the checklist email to send these extra document and she said you can either wait for review to be done and if they really need it it will be another checklist.. she mentiones as she sees these files are not ticked in my profile. she says you can send it and got a new scan date or wait until 42 days of review is passed if teh supervisor is ok with it you get CC otherwise checklist.

Has anybody same experience?

Did you already provide the police certificate in your earlier package? I assume so since this is required depending on how long you stayed a place.

Maybe I am missing something, are they asking for something additional to the police certificate?

If they are asking for something that wasn't required then that is disturbing.

Police Certificates are generally required if you have lived anywhere outside of your home country since the age of 16 for more than a year. The phone operators can not be trusted. I had a serious delay with the Police Certificate from South Africa for my husband. One of the phone reps told me to just go ahead and send everything in without the certificate, include a letter explaining the situation and my case would be completed. WRONG. I got a checklist for the certificate and a new 30 day wait once I finally got it and sent it in. If they are asking for it, I say send it. That's my two cents.

yes I have lived in sweden for 6 years and so I provided my police certificate in sweden to them in my first package. but now the representative told me that they have not that in their system. Apparently it is missed or the rep is not trusted. I wonder if they have not that in their system, I should have recived it with my checklist, not now!!! It is so frustrating and I am sad .

the only think is that I did not send the police certificate from my home country ( I think I did not send, I donot remember ) ! which I assumed is not required since I am outside my country for a long time.

I hope that the phone operator is not trusted, otherwise I will get 2nd checklist which will cause another 30 to 60 days delay in my case!

do you mean that should I trust the operator and resend my police certificate ( which I have sent before) or wait until that slow supervisor takes my case and decides if it is really missing ?

since If I trust teh operator and send any document it will generate a new scan date and another 30 days delay ( I wanna die of this bureaucracy

Wow. I must have misunderstood your original post. If they are asking for a certificate that you already sent in, then maybe wait for the supervisor. However, I've read here that sometimes documents get lost so it seems like a gamble either way. BUT it sounds like you've lived elsewhere are you sure that they aren't requesting the certificate from THAT country? All I can say is that from my experience, IF the certificate is available and they don't have it, they'll make you get it.

You must send a police certificate from all countries you lived in. Not just sweden

For my case I provided the police certificates for the 2 countries me and my wife lived in while we were students. Now a Supervisor asked me for my Greek certificate. I told her that it is not required since the embassy directly asks for a court certificate in the ministry of justice here in Greece. She told me she does not belive me and told me to send via fed ex the print out from the Athens embassy that describes this process. Next day another supervisor told me that this is not correct and that the last supervisor was probably mistaken....... My lawyer is having a field day.

It seems from your all stories that better if I wait until get a correspondence via email. these representatives are not trusted since every one of them says one thing.

I also need to ask my husband what police certificates did he send when preparing the packet!
