Finally received packet 3 from Ankara this morning but no appointments are available at this time guess it's back to the waiting game for us...

Just a question: what do you mean by packet 3? Did you get anything in the mail or just the email with instructions?

It will be alright! Just be patient and remember to try at 4pm or later in the wee sleepy times. Around 3am. I finally got my interview for October 16th! I hope to have good luck.

Thanks, we will both keep looking for open dates...we will be ready to send everything tomorrow, so fingers crossed they open some dates soon. Unfortunately Ankara seems to be a very busy embassy so I just hope we can get an interview before the end of the year...

It's just an email from the embassy acknowledging that they received your petition with instructions of how to schedule your interview and what supporting documents you need to collect. Everything is accessible online, but it says not to book an interview until instructed to do so in that email...

After the embassy receives your approved petition from the NVC they will send you an email (most people refer to this as packet 3). That email will have a link to instructions on what documents you need to collect and a link to a website where you can schedule your interview. They do not want you to schedule anything before receiving that email indicating it is ok to do so...

thanks for the explanation. I'm freaking out constantly since we had almost every road block so far. it's really beyond being frustrating!

Few weeks ago, people could schedule an interview for only December and now there are no avaliable dates. How nice...nah, it's so aggravating

You have to keep trying to get the interview. Check several times a day. It sucks but it's the only way.

The site works on iPhones and Androids so you can check from your phone as well.

Thanks, that's what I'm doing checking the website on my phone multiple times a day...do you know if you can change your interview date once you select one if something earlier becomes available?

I think you can make it for the future. Once you have your appointment you can cancel it, but be aware! Because there is a possibility that you can't find more dates and you could lose your chance. Now, if you don't have work paperwork ready, I'd suggest to cancel and wait even if you lose your opportunity. It's very to have everything ready for them! Also you can schedule an emergency appointment in order to do it before your date.

our case shows IN TRANSIT and it says "your interview date was provided by the NVC"

I was supposed to schedule my interview via their service provider. So what does this mean?

You need to wait until it arrives. It says it's in transit. Also they already schedule the appointment, but you have to wait until your get the package with all the instructions.

I called NVC today and they said it was just a generic statement and I was supposed schedule my interview thru CSC

Later, they opened up interview dates in November. We originally were only able to get a date in December, but moved ours interview up two weeks to November.

And now this waiting game with the Embassy, Bogotá in our case.

So the trick is to check around at 4pm, correct? (Which is 5pm my time as I am in Curacao). It is gonna be a huge logistical task as I will be traveling from Curacao to Bogotá, just for the K1 visa; selecting the appointment/ selecting travel dates/ booking the medical/ work.

I am just hoping that once the visa is approved, the passport with the visa in it is returned back asap, as I will need this to travel back home.

Thanks to your posts on this board, our hopes of appointments becoming available in Bogotá soon are kept alive .
