Medisys X-Ray Machine broken? (Montreal Medical Exam)

Hi guys, my fiancee made the flight to Montreal on Tuesday and had her medical scheduled for yesterday. After scrambling at Medisys for five hours, they informed her that the X-Ray machine is broken and she would need to call back at 7:30am today to see if they could squeeze her in once it's fixed. She asked the secretary if she would still be able to receive her results by Monday for her interview on Tuesday - they said yes.

After calling this morning, a very rude secretary told her the machine is still broken and to call back after noon. She asked once again if the results would be ready by Monday - she again said yes, but she had no idea when the machine would be working again.

Is anyone else in this situation? What if the machine isn't working or the results aren't in by her interview date? She flew across the country for the interview and is taking time off work. Will the Consulate be forgiving if the X-Ray results aren't done yet? What should we expect?

Thanks for any information you guys can give us, we're just worried.

If you can't get it done there, you may want to schedule a new appointment at another Doctor in a different location. That or reschedule the interview.

But, I don't think they'll take medical half done. My fiance recieved a manilla envelope with "DO NOT OPEN" on the outside, EVERYTHING that is needed is in there. Blood work results, vaccinations, basic med notes, and the xrays. They all have to come together in that sealed envelope.

The interview being on Tuesday could be a problem. It took a week for my fiance to get his medical completed and given to him. That was with no issues or anything.

So Medisys worked with the Consulate and they are now allowing applicants to get the X-Ray done at some other radiology place in Montreal (she didn't catch the name). The radiology place is going to send the results to Medisys and my fiancee will have everything she needs in time for the interview.

Hopefully this eases the minds of anyone else in Montreal right now going through the same thing!

That's wonderful! At least they're on the ball and made sure to get everything passed by the consulate! Good luck at her interview!

This is from my fiancee. Good luck to you tomorrow!

"So, my interview was today at the consulate in Montreal! I arrived super early, around 6:30am, to be second in line. We waited until 7:10am, then the guards came out to put the barricade out, which went the opposite way to where I was standing (go to the left!) and I was sent to the back of the line. Thankfully, a few people were turned away because they were early for their appointments, and when I showed my appointment letter the lady gave me a little laminated card saying I was applicant number 3. The card said to have the following documents ready for immediate collection: interview letter, passport, medical exam, and two passport style photos (they did not ask for my ds-160 although others had to present it for different visas) and then I continued through security.

I waited closest to the elevator, remembering a previous visajourney post saying to be close to catch the first ride up and exit through the back of the elevator. Since I already had my number, the lady told me to sit in the middle and wait to be called. Number one was super late…like really late, so they ended up calling me instead. (as previously mentioned odd booths call odd numbers, even booths call even numbers). I went to the first booth and the lady I met with was super kind! She asked for my appointment letter, passport, medical exam, and two passport style photos, then continued to find my file. She came back, asking polite questions as she added my documents to the file. She took my fingerprints and asked me to sit back down and until I was asked to be called to another window. About 30 minutes later, I was called to booth 7, the man there was quite nice to start off with , but I had a mini heart attack when he asked how long I was in South Africa for (where I met my fiancé). I said I was there for 5 or 6 months. The officer went on to say how I need a police record if I was there longer than 6 months and asked if I had it or not. I said no, because I was only there touring, I had no visa or anything, and he said he would came back to it later. By this point I was freaking out thinking he wasn't going to issue my visa and thinking of all the things I could have done. When he asked again he asked if I was sure if it was 6 months or maybe less( he seemed to be giving me the benefit of the doubt. He asked to see my old passport ( that had my travels to South Africa in it) and concluded my time there was less than 6 months and then I did not need a police record. He was really hard to read…I wasn’t sure if he as super nice and casual about things or if he was annoyed by the whole thing. In any case, he typed some more on my file, wrote some things on the folder. And then handed me the welcome to the USA letter. All in all I was back at my hotel (Hotel Le Dauphin - highly recommend) by 9am calling my fiance to share the great news!!!

Word of advice to all that follow is not to stress, be early and prepared, and answer all questions honestly. I feel like number 7 gave me the benefit of the doubt and let me show the facts before dismissing me saying I needed something more. I saw a couple of people turned away and told to submit their forms again because they had filled out minor details wrong. I'm so happy this part is over and I don’t nee to stress about anything else!"

what time was your appointment?

If it was 8:00 then you showed up an hour and a half early. I was planning on being there by 7:45. Would that make me last or something?

And thanks a lot for detailed response.
