Hello,

Im a filipino citizen from the philippines and I'm currenly engaged with my boyfriend who is a natural US citizen. We've been together

for 2 years now and have been seeing each other on a yearly basis. Now, we are finally ready to move our relationship into the next level and I have some

concerns about this. Currently, I am hired to work in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a Nurse and have been contracted for 1 year. I'm scheduled to leave my country

by the month of November this year. My boyfriend and I are not quite sure If I could process our application in Saudi Arabia - US Embassy since I am a Philippine Citizen. I am very much concerned if it possible not to return home for medical or even interview since I'd be working in Saudi during the time of our application.

Is it possible? or do I really need to be in my home country and present to do all the paperwork and interview? or can I have it done in Saudi Arabia?

If yes. How?

Does anybody have gone through this situation? I will appreciate your input so much

Thank you very much

you can process the petition in Saudi Arabia.. In the I-129F form there's a question as to where the beneficiary applies for visa, just put the name of the consulate in Saudi Arabia..

So you are contracted to work for 1 year, k-1 visa application is fast, you can be approved not even a month, with medical and interview processing in between, you can possibly be in USA in just 3 months.. Can you just resign to your job in Saudi Arabia without problems when you get your visa on hand?

Yes, you can process and proceed to do the medical and interview in Saudi Arabia. Please note if you choose that route, you are no longer covered by the procedures of US Embassy Manila and cannot use the guidelines therein. You will be following the procedures and all requirements for Saudi Arabia.

On the I129 F form there is a question Part 2 36a. Your fiance/e will apply for a visa abroad at the American embassy or consulate at:

36 a - City or town (your city)

36b - Saudi Arabia

Oohh thank you so much for your helpful response, I was a bit hesitant cause I don't have any idea what to do. Another thing that I need to know about is the requirements like police clearances. Some of the reviews I've read was they were having problems of getting police clearances form the country they have previously worked with. Obviously I need to get one from my country before going to Saudi.

hopefully things go well, i think I need to be in Saudi before my boyfriend sends the document to the state department.

- another concern I have is, are we allowed to schedule our interview?

NBI Clearances are valid for 1 year, yes better to get one before your departure. You also need Police Clearances from all other countries that you have stayed of more than 6 months.

Of course your I 129 should reflect your current address in Saudi Arabia. You may want to wait until you are actually in the country and know all the details/ new contact info before declaring the address but physically not there.

For interview schedule, the process may differ between consulate offices. You should review the Saudi Arabia process or join the subforum.

you're in luck.. when I first began this process, I had NOBODY here.. :) so i'm pretty much the trail-setter for Philippines-KSA-K1 applications

anything you need feel free to ask

- police clearances: you need one from KSA, it's easy, don't worry :) just go get the letter from the us embassy and you won't be given any problems

- you are NOT allowed to schedule your own interview, the us embassy schedules it for you once you mail them the required documents saying you're ready

Thank you so much. This forum really helped me prepare for our paper works.

So, I have a change in mind. originally my boyfriend had to say his feelings that he does not want me to go to Saudi. I got adices from friends too, and I made up my mind to keep everything at peace. Im going to Singapore instead and have the visa request in the Philippines.

I am gathering our paper works last night and I wonder with the proff of communication or evidence of relationship .

-What timeline did you usen for capturing the daily call logs and messages? Does it have to be from the day we began talking until today? Or is it for this year only? I'm quite confused of what to present.

Please give me your feedback, I appreciate it so much

You can do screen shots, of the communications/ call logs. You don't need to send everything, just select a few dates from the day you started talking and a few dates per month to the present. Then I lay-out it on a word file and print.
