1st Noa questions

Hi everyone!

This is our first post, I am sure there will be more to come. My Norwegian fiance and I mailed our I-291F packet to the Texas center on Feb. 9th. I tracked the package and it was signed for on the 13th. Just wondering how long it usually takes to hear of the 1st NOA and how we will be informed? Will they send me something in the mail (snail mail or email)?

Usually, it comes out at about 1 week time. Most times it's less than 1 week after they receive the form. They'll mail the NOA1 notice to you.

Hi,

Of course I meant to write I-129F, just wanted to make sure I clarified! We both live in Norway so if the NOA's are sent snail mail, it's going to take longer to get to us than if we were in the states.

Thanks for the information! Do they give you a case number so it can be tracked on-line with the NOA1?

Ummmmm....... really? That is not good to hear! This is a new process to me as all the reaseach I've done was for filing for an alien relative to immigrate. Our plans had to change after the process from filing from abroad changed.

But sometimes the numbers are unreadable if you get the check cashed notification through email with poor quality image. It happened to us. So we had to wait for the NoA1 hard-copy to arrive.

Sorry i dont know the rules for that, but you do have a permanet US address, correct to know which center to send the application to. Is that what you listed, like to your parents etc so they will receive the notice. Im sure someone will come along with a similar experience,

I sent mine receipt requested and registered mail and never heard anything. I found out they got it by checking for the canceled check. I got the case number off the back of the check. I received the NOA1 in the mail a couple of days after the check was cashed. Yay for on-line banking.

my check cashed 6 days after i got my NOA1... i was beginning to think i got off with a free app!
