My husband (US citizen) wants to bring his mother to the US because war has broken out in their home country of Yemen and living conditions there are not safe.

According to this page, the outbreak of war in the home country is one of the criteria which allows you to expedite the case. I think since parents are in the immediate relative category, that she would be eligible to come immediately as long as the petition is approved.

I have seen other cases which got expedited in Syria and other conflict zones which got successfully expedited with the help of a lawyer. My question if what kinds of photos, documents, or procedures do we need to take in order to get the expedition approved? (We prefer not to go through a lawyer thats why we are asking here first)

They are living in a hot zone right now which has daily airstrikes and so far 4000+ have been killed, mostly citizens. They had an airstrike on their neighbors house and the whole family died.

We send the i130 out last week and they just cashed the check yesterday. Can anyone give advice on if we would be able to expedite the case and what kind of steps we should take?

Nothing immediate in US Immigration, having said that there seems no rhyme or reason in what does get expedited so no harm having a go.
