Do I really need to have the 1040 tax form or just the front page of turbo tax that states that I did my tax?

I lost my file for my tax form and the only hard copy that I have is the front page of turbo tax that I sent to IRS and state tax.

I still have my w-2 and my parents w-2 for affidavit of support.

thanks

You can get tax transcripts from irs.gov which seems to have broke recently but u can request copies from mail still.

http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript if you goto turbotax you may be able to get your report as well.

You'll want the either the transcript or the 1040. Usually most websites email you a copy of your 1040 or you can pull it up at a later date.

Either way if you have time, go ahead and just order a transcript. Then you won't need W2's or the 1040. It's all on the transcript.

That transcript is it 100% sure that they will accept it?

Hmm it still loads this for me :

Alert:

The online Get Transcript service is currently unavailable. You may still order transcripts using the Get Transcript by Mail service. We apologize for any inconvenience.

You can get a transcript by mail to view your tax account transactions or line-by-line tax return information for a specific tax year.

That message merely means that you will not be able to download and print your record from the computer, however, you can get a copy mailed to you which is what I did.
