Status for Visa changed - what's next?

Hey there!

After sending an email this morning using USTRAVELDOCS, my fiance's status for the visa being issued was changed to "READY" with the following message;

Case Creation Date: 09-Sep-2015 Status Updated Date: 09-Sep-2015

Your case is open and ready for your interview, fingerprints, and required documents. If you have already had your interview, please check your status after two business days. If no interview was required, please check back in two business days for the status of your application.

What's next? How close are we to receiving the visa?

It's been a while so I might be wrong but I'll try. The next step is either AP (totally normal for printing and such) or issued. Issued was the last for us before being told by USTraveldocs.com to come pick up his passport. It's suppose to be quick after issued but it took 10 days for us to be allowed to pick up his visa. I hope that's changed and that this information was helpful. I still wouldn't buy a ticket (even if it's a couple weeks out).

Got it! Thank you! Yeah, it went from that ready status to AP the same day... so thankfully it's moving but would hate to sit on AP for too long!
