evidence list and question

Hello,

I have a question about the credit card statement.

I have my husband added to my credit cards accounts years ago when we got married, I was told credit card statements can be evidence to submit, my questions is my husband's name is not showed on any of the credit card statements. I called the credit card company, they said they will only have the main account holder's name in there,

1. in this case, I guess I can only submit the copies of our cards instead of the statements, or any other way I can show them?

2. I read some threads, people were talking about letters from credit card company, I was wondering what type of letters do we need, what letters the card company will be able to provide?

3. we are going to submit packages by the end of May, we brifely went through what we have so far...

we have

joint tax statements,

joint health insurance,

joint utility and phone bills,

Lease agrrement,

joint credit cards,

AAA cards,blockbuster cards...so on

Photoes with my husband's big family

support letter from friends

greeting cards from parents and friends

Misc....

what we lack of is join bank account statement from 5/06 to current, (we only have our joint bank account statement from 8/04-5/06) due to some reasons, we are unable to have a joint bank account together, will this cause a problem, any suggestions?

Thanks a lot.

God bless us all.

Re: credit card statements

What I've found is that it depends on the credit card company and also how you are adding your husband to the account. If you add him as an "authorized user" it means that you are responsible for the whole debt but he gets to have a card and he gets to charge things on your account. If you add him as a "co-applicant" or co-account holder or whatever the word is that they use, he is jointly responsible for the account and they should put both names on the statement. But again, depends on the credit card company, each has its own policy. US Bank is the one that put both our names on the statement.

With my credit cards my husband's name showed up on most of the statements, for the cards that did not put his name on the statement, I made photocopies of both our cards showing the same credit card number.

Hard to say whether the lack of a joint banking account will cause a problem. You have to weigh your entire submittal as a whole so it depends on the strength of your other evidence. For our packet we used the joint banking account to illustrate many things, like both spouses' paychecks being direct deposited into the same account, electronic debits to pay our joint credit cards, etc.

Other suggestions for inclusion are:

- spouse named as beneficiary for 401k/IRA account and/or life insurance policy

"When all else fails, read the instructions."

I'm an authorized user in a couple of my husband's credit cards. That's how I was able to establish my own credit record. Sometimes, these credit card companies would send us offers .... balance transfers, cash advance, etc.....and these offers would be addressed to hubby and myself. I have saved some of these offers in case we need more evidence.

Check those offers from the credit card companies, they might be addressed to both you and your husband too.

My husband is an authorised user on my card, but his name does not appear on the statement. I just sent in a sample of statements covering the 2 year period and a copy of the actual cards in each of our names.

thanks

I would just make copies of both our credit cards which show the same account number. Hope this will work....
