Follow up medical check up required in USA.

I arrived exactly one week today. My POE is MSP International airport. The Immigration officer that accommodated me on that airport told me that I need to call the Public Health Department once I reached my state of residency. I called the public health and the woman told me I need to wait something on the mail for 2 or 3 weeks.

I undergo sputum exam at St. Lukes - Manila and turned out negative for TB. I have class B1 classification checked on my St. Lukes Medical exam result. According to my research it says.

B-Notification & Follow-up Evaluation (Formally known as the Alien Referral Process)

Procedure for Processing a Class B1 TB, Pulmonary This patient is a Class B1 TB, Pulmonary because of following identified during the overseas medical evaluation:

 Abnormal Chest X-ray

 Three Negative Sputum Tests

 Patient has not been ruled-out for TB disease

Note: The Overseas Panel Physician may have classified this patient as “Class B2 – Not Clinically Active, Not Infectious”, which is a classification based on the old Technical Instructions. This patient is considered a Class B1 TB – Pulmonary for purposes of implementing the New 2007 Technical Instructions.

Patient requires follow-up evaluation as a TB suspect.

 Complete an H-290 Suspect Registration

 Submit Overseas CXR film to radiologist for a reading, if available.

 Repeat CXR in U.S.

 Compare overseas CXR with U.S. CXR

 Repeat sputum, contingent on U.S. CXR results

 Report final disposition of follow-up evaluation, and treatment when applicable

Based from above statement I basically understand the process. I am curious on one thing and if there is a case..

WHAT IF A PERSON REQUIRED TO DO THE SAME TEST AT WHAT WAS DONE AT ST. LUKES BEFORE FLYING HERE WILL HAVE A POSITIVE RESULT FOR TB? SAY IN ONE OF THE SPUTUM TEST. IS THAT CAN BE A GROUND FOR THIS PERSON TO BE DEPORTED BACK TO PHILS?

I hope you guys can enlightened me.

Thank you so much for your future reply to this topic.

I have no experience with this, but logic and human decency would seem to indicate they would just give you the current TB treatment in your new home town in the US.

The people performing your follow-up medical check would probably have the best answer about what happens next.

I believe that they are going to do some additional testing to confirm what SLEC saw and that you are indeed healthy. It would be my opinion that whether positive or negative, you're not going to be deported but cured if positive, with possibly a different regiment. One that SLEC may not have available to them.
