I sense some happiness in your post regarding my loss. It's over. The mother broke us up sending her to a bar to work as a prostitute. Her mother made her afraid of coming here saying this and that telling lies about what could happen to her in America. Her little bar girl friends probably jealous so they'll say anything to her to make her afraid too to keep her away from here. It's all part of my typical luck with women. I'm use to it.

There's no love now so no possibility of conquering anything.

I am not happy this is happening to you, I am sorry you sensed something like that. I thought when you posted it was over a month ago it was over so I was surprised you are still lingering on this heartache.

I can see all RED in this, so if you want to keep on talking about this over and over - you will not move on. People here sympathize with you but You are dragging your sorry self on this too long. The more I know about your story the more I feel sorry and I don't understand you keep on punishing yourself. You have given her a chance of a better life despite her history.

OK gentlemen, I am not that sentimental over things like this. Maybe you guys can better enlighten duckhunter. I am unfollowing this post.

Dunkhunter, goodluck. I hope you wake up one day and just move on and put this girl behind you.

She's 22. Her mom thinks this is no big deal. 'Oh well' you can just come here next year and visit again.' 'Oh you can just get married here next year, etc.' What these people don't realize is that I can't come to Philippines next year. I can't do it. No time away from work and it's a financial strain. It was a huge sacrifice for me to come there. A huge sacrifice for me to pay all the travel expense and visa costs, passport costs, etc. My gosh this Visa will expire. They complained that all I sent was 2500p. That's not enough so the mother sends my fiancé to Manila or Angeles or wherever else to work in a bar. Who knows where it's a big secret. I'm broken up because of all this. I think she might be selling her body. The Visa is wasting away at the Embassy. Her mom must have convinced her that I'm not rich enough. Holy Cow I can't believe this! Can I be worse than bar life?

Stay away from girls that are from poor families, You basically adopt a whole family who will always have there hand out asking for money.

Girls go to the bar and work and as long as they are sending money home to papa so he can cockfight, gamble it's all good.

dear duckhunter1,

I'd say move on with your life and find a partner who would be willing to work out and make a status with you and not want you just because you can be some sort of "dora's backpack". I'm a filipina myself but it seriously devastate me when filipinas are generalized as "hoes, prostututa or gold diggers". To tell you the truth, there are "poor filipinas" out there who stand with their own good principles and come chasing their ambitions with all that they have just like a normal person. For some people you'd hear them say "marrying a filipina is like marrying a whole baranggay or clan" that is sort of true specially when the foreigner partner permits it. Learn to say no. However, that is a harsh word to filipinos and it takes them a while to openly accept the reason behind the "NO". In your case, you have tried to give your fiance a better life with her illegitimate child. Imagine, you are open arms with the fact of being the bread winner to these people but in the end "they want your money, not you" "they want the things you give and won't sacrifice on their end to make you happy". Do you really want that life? Then if you don't.... Live and let go, it's easy to mend your broken heart than deal with more pain as long as you live. If your partner unconditionally loves you, she will do everything to reach you.

Well, here's my two cents about it. I'm a Filipina and I was 23 when my fiancee started the processing the petition. I do not need consent from my parents to get married. I simply informed them of my plans to get married as a sign of respect. If she really love you, she will move mountains to be with you. Maybe she got cold feet. We'll never know. As for her family, it is a shame that they are acting like that. This might not be the words you'd like to hear but it is better to move on. Save yourself from a bigger headache. You deserve better.

It's over and I accept it but I have filed a civil suit against her. I have a very expensive high profile lawyer in Manila. She has informed me this is a very simple case and a classic example of marriage scams there. This is going to cause some long term problems for her. Perhaps she will learn her lesson.

And exactly what is that going to do. You stated her and her family do not have any money. It definitely is not going to win her back. I guess it could bring you some form of satisfaction at a high price. Of course the lawyer is going to tell you stuff They see $Money$. You already mention about spending money you did not have I fail to see how doing this can help. The best advice is to move on

I f this does not satisfy you what is next when does it end. You are acting like a person bent on revenge that is not good Instead why do you not look for the another girl there is probably a girl somewhere waiting on you but you are so blind by your revenge

Im not really into fiance conversations/posts since i am IR2, but this is just too devastating I never knew this really happens in real life. But I do hope for you to move on.. Come to think of it, this is God's way telling you "nawp shes not for you, you have to let go or else something worst can happen." Opposing to what other people say I do not agree that you find another one for you to move on. I suggest live your life be the best and someone better will appreciate and love you when the right time comes. BEST WISHES! GOODLUCK!

This is very interesting, obviously you see similar situations arise.

I just wondered what the legal basis is for such a case and what sort of damages you are seeking?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I agree with VOL. If you are complaining that you spent a lot of money $500 since April, and now you got a "expensive lawyer" for that case. Honestly I spend that about every 3 months to take care of my mother in law so that's not really alot. You do know the court system in the Philippines is God awful slow right, and you will more than like be into this for another few years before it is settled? You should have just cut your losses and found someone else instead because she has obviously moved on. If a woman loves you then she will move heaven and earth to be with you, and not care what her parents think.

Something just doesn't sit right with me and this whole situation.

Is it really worth it? Why continue to waste your time and money on this girl who will never be with you, when you can use your time and money more wisely and find someone better for you?

Totally agree with this assessment right here. Why are you wasting time and effort in filing a civil suit, when you can move on and find a good woman who is worth your time?
