Texas Service Center

Priority Date: 08/31/2015

Notice Date: 09/01/2015

case was transferred , we didn't receive any mails, emails, texts or calls

2 updates in less than 10 hours tho.

first one

Case Transferred To Another Office

second one

Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction

We transferred your form I-130 to another USCIS office, That office now has jurisdiction over your case.

not sure what they mean, if someone is looking at the case right now(adjudgeication) or the case will be kept until someone looks at it.

what do you think about that ? is it a good thing or a bad thing.

I hope it goes well for all of us, I'm worried to be honest...

We have the same case. Sent mine same date as you and my case was transfered too to another office. Guess well just have to wait another month?

For Texas Service Center the processing time is over 4 months. If you got transferred to another service center, it means that they are probably trying to manage their case load. Since you don't know which service center it was sent to, it is hard to tell how much longer you will need to wait. It's possible that they sent it to the new Potomac Service Center for which there is no data yet as to how long they take to process cases.

What I suggest is to keep checking your case status here: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

If there any updates on your case, this will be the first place you'll be able to see them.

However your case has only been processed for 2.5 months, so unfortunately the best advice is to be patient, because on average it takes about 5 months to get approved by USCIS.

When we called they asked you to wait 42 days from they get the packet until we get a number.

Did you get a notification when NVC received your package? Or did you have to call them to know?

Hi

We called them up last week, they told us that they got the case in, but didn't yet have a case number for it.

They told us to wait 42 days and if no case number by post, then call them.

But i´m going to call tomorrow and see if luck is on my side.

My wife is leaving with our kids first week in Dec. so i hope i dont have to be with out them to long.

I have a question. My wife is my sponsor. She is here with me and been living here with me outside of u.s. for years as a stay-at-home mom. I know at some point we will need to prove that the sponsor has the finances to support me when we move to the u.s. But I am the only income earner in the family and my wife hasnt worked ever since. Any idea how we can do this? Or know anyone of the same situation?

Sounds like you need a joint-sponsor, unless you have a big savings you can use.

Hi Girv!

We are in a similar situation - also both currently residing abroad. This explains why you got approved so fast. Apparently when both petitioner and beneficiary live together abroad, the case gets typically sent to California Service Center, gets auto-expedited and approved real fast (typically between 20 and 40 days at USCIS). Have a look at this thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/357465-usc-petitioner-living-abroad/page-1

Anyway, looks like you will probably need a joint sponsor, like SoerenHelmer already said. My husband (the USC) currently works in Poland, but it doesn't matter as foreign income isn't counted for the purpose of I-864. So we are completely dependent on our joint sponsor, my mother-in-law.

The important thing is: have you already looked into the "domicile" issue? Have you figured out how you'll tackle it? For couples in our situation (residing together abroad) it can be a big issue if it's not dealt with properly. Together with your AOS documents at NVC you will need to provide documents that prove that your wife is domiciled in the USA or that she has intent to re-establish domicile in the USA.

Called NVC today

Still no case number, next week maybe my lucky week.

I'm considering calling the NVC either today or tomorrow to find out.

Tomorrow marks 2 weeks since our I-130 was approved and 1 week since I sent a message to the NVC via their website in order to find out if they've received our case. I guess they have, but would love to know as well if there is a case number for it.

We're both currently working in Spain, so we also need to do the joint-sponsor.
