it has been a month since we received NOA1 via mail in 09/01/2015 . since then when I check USCIS website it's showing.

Case Was Received

On August 31, 2015, we received your Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), or Orphan, Receipt Number SRCxxxxxxxxxx, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by September 30, 2015

___

is that normal? september has passed already...

I wonder when we should expect the next update, and how many updates till they show Case Was Approved.

..

***a question. how to send additional documents to be added to the case ( currently processing in Texas Service Center ).

what should I write on the package? where to send it?

yes it is I also have the same NOA1 as you & it saying the same thing but I am at California and they say it 5 month to be approved at Texas so good luck to you.

Hello, honestly I have to idea as never thought you have to send police certificate in NOA1 i thought that was for interview. And for that you need local police and from passport office as of India and if stayed in any other country more than 1yr then from that country. You can ask in other forum if they are from egypt.

It is my understanding that the police certificate will be needed at the interview stage and it will need to be a current one. My husband and I are also in Egypt and we were told to wait to obtain a current police certificate when it is requested. Even if you send it in, you will likely need to obtain a new one when the time comes for them to need it.

Hi all. Im planning on visiting my husband in December. Here's the issue

My current passport has my b1/b2 visa which is valid for a number of years and had my maiden name.

I want to change my passport to have my new married name

Visas do not transfer to new passports

What would I need to do to successfully v travel in December if I have two passports with different names?

First of all if you have CR1 visa application in process then it's better not to go and your husband comes to meet you. Next i have the same thing now. Two passports and the old one has my B1/B2 visa and its valid and you are good to travel with it but you have to carry two passports. The visa gets invalid when you will get your CR1.

I assume your name is the same in both passports? Mine would have two different names. Is that going to be a problem? Do I need to travel with my marriage license?
