Hello,

For supporting documents,

1) Should I send the petitioner's divorce decree with Supporting documents?

2) I just paid my IV fee so when do I exactly send all the financial and supporting documents to NVC?

3) My congressman said to send it as 2 different packages and the state website says send it as 1 package or it can be delayed? What to do for that?

4) With form 864ez, do I need to send a copy of my passport as a petitioner?

Will be awaiting your reply!

Best regards,

And no I don't drive Uber.

Supporting documents is for all the beneficiary documents. If you want to you can send your spouse a copy for the interview. It is not require for NVC only the beneficiary documents

Send in your AOS and your IV packets now. You could have sent them in sooner. You did not have to wait for the IV fee or the DS-261 form to be fill out

Send both packets together as one. you can separate them if you want to but send them together. You will also need the document check list and bar code cover sheet that came with the NVC welcome letter and or E-mail. If you do not have a bar code cover sheet you can print one from the AOS or the IV fee payment portal. The bar code cover sheet has the address to send the documents to. It does not matter which cover sheet or address you use as long as both packets is sent together.

No you do not need to send a copy of your passport if you are the petitioner

Time is wasting

good luck

Thank you very much for your detailed reply. Also one more thing. Do I need to also send translations on all the original foreign langauge documents? For example Marriage certificate?

According to the NVC website you do need to send in translation for documents, but I can not answer for certain as none of my wife documents needed to be translate. Your earlier questions I could answer with certainty since my wife went thru the CR-1 visa process recently here is the link to supporting documents for the NVC

According to the link you sent, I just read that you have to send the translations.

After you collect your financial forms and supporting financial evidence, you and each family member immigrating with you to the United States should collect civil documents to support your visa application.

  • You must send photocopies of all required civil documents to the NVC.
  • You must submit the originals (or certified copies) and a photocopy of each of your required civil documents to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate at the time of your interview.

The original civil documents you submit to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate must be issued by an appropriate authority.

All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which you are applying for a visa, must be accompanied by certified translations. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator stating that the:

  • Translation is accurate, and
  • Translator is competent to translate.

Review each item below, and obtain any that apply to you or your immigrating family members.

According to the NVC website you do need to send in translation for documents, but I can not answer for certain as none of my wife documents needed to be translate. My logic was that even if I sent the documents before IV fee generation. The financial and supporting docs will just sit there till I actually complete the IV form online so what is the rush? Unless somehow they start going through the documents before IV form is completed. Not sure.

Supporting documents is for all the beneficiary documents. If you want to you can send your spouse a copy for the interview. It is not require for NVC only the beneficiary documents

Your documents will not just sit. There is 2 parts of the NVC process one is paying of the fees and filling out the forms. The other is reviewing of the documents. IF The NVC is not backlog and behind, the NVC states it takes about 30 days to review the documents. So if you would of sent in the documents before you paid the IV fee and fill out the DS-261 form. The NVC would of had your documents to review while you were doing the rest of the process

Waiting till after you paid the IV fee and complete the DS-260 form to send the documents in, means you will be waiting at least an extra 30 days

Yes, these documents are all for your mom.

Petitioner's document is a copy of your birth certificate.

You need to submit photocopies to NVC and she needs to bring the originals to the interview.
